Hi I'm Ammon

I grew up in northwestern Wyoming in a town called Burlington. Im the eighth of eight children. I'm down under now & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm twenty years old and I've spent the majority of my life in a little town in Wyoming. I love to play American Football, Basketball, and i ran distance races in Track. I love being in the mountains and outdoors hiking, camping, hunting, anything like that. My family is incredibly important to me. I wouldn't trade any of my family members for all the gold in China. I have so much fun playing with my nieces and nephews and siblings. I've worked on a farm, in construction, and in a hotel and a cafe. But now I'm doing what I love the most, serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints here in Queensland.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of this Church quite simply because I know that it's true. When I was younger, I had to make the decision of whether or not I wanted to continue on it doing what I was. I didn't know if any of it was true. Up to that point everything I had done was because my parents told me to. And so I took the challenge found in the Book of Mormon at the end and prayed to ask God if the Book of Mormon is actually scripture. Because if it is than all this church holds to be true is real. And I found, without a shadow of a doubt that it is true. All of it. And that is an amazing blessing to have! To know that The church Jesus Christ set up has been restored to the Earth in its fullness. To know that my family can be together, not just for this life, but forever. And the word forever means more to me now. Its not just a phrase that means I love them enough to be with them forever. It means that I will literally, be with them forever. So long as I follow the Savior. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. He did, truly see the Father and the Son exactly as he said he did. I'm grateful for all he did. But not nearly as grateful as I am to Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father who saw it fit to restore their church. Their sacrifice is what makes everything possible. I can't even really put my love and devotion for them into words. But I know, just as surely as I know that the Sun will rise tomorrow. That Jesus Christ is the Savior of the World. Heavenly Father has provided a way that all may return to him. We just have to do our part. We must show "Faith and Works" Neither is enough when alone. And its in Christ I put my faith. Now and forever. I say these things, in the name of my Lord, my Savior, and my King. Jesus Christ, Amen

How I live my faith

At the moment, I live my faith by being a missionary. I'm one of the blokes you see walking down the street or riding down it on push bikes wearing a shirt and tie in the dead of summer. Its one of the greatest blessings I've ever been giving. To have the opportunity to teach what I know to be true and also to learn what others hold to be true. There's nothing better in my day than learning something new. I love talking to people and I love the people of Australia. But in honesty that has been a process. I didn't understand a lot of things when i started my mission and I didn't like getting doors slammed in my face. But I understand more now. And if that is the only thing I have to go through for the Savior than bring on the doors. If you ever see us on the street. Please say hello. Even if you're not interested in the message and news we bring to the world. At least say hello and if that's all you do than you have made a missionaries day much brighter. And if you want to know more. Than you've made a missionaries mission brighter. But more important. You've made God and Christ feel more joy and less sorrow
