Hi I'm Missy

I'm an aspiring Clinical Psychologist. I'm a former D1 athlete from St. Mary's College (CA). I pursue optimism and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently finishing my last year of graduate training before I receive my PhD in Clinical Psychology. I love working with teenagers. I hope to one day open a treatment facility for youth in underserved populations and those who suffer from difficult circumstances. I played volleyball for St. Mary's College located in the beautiful Oakland Hills of California and loved every second of my time. While playing volleyball, I majored in Theology and Psychology, formed lasting friendships and learned to love the Catholic Faith. Most importantly, I am a daughter, sister, niece, friend and Christ-follower.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives me purpose and hope. I am a Mormon because I need help to be better. I learn from my mistakes every day, and have faith this life isn't just about struggling but is about learning to find happiness. I believe that as I continue to learn from challenges in life, I can experience pure joy and be blessed from a loving Father in Heaven. I am a Mormon because I believe God still speaks to his children today, just like He lead and spoke to prophets of old.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday for three hours and I love it. I love learning about the scriptures during church and on my own, specifically about how to better follow our Savior. I pray for help when I'm struggling with challenging and important questions, for guidance for making decisions and for those around me who need extra support. On a daily basis, I strive to see others as God would see them and seek to support them during difficult times or to celebrate their successes.
