Hi I'm Jim

My best friend introduced me to the church when we were in high school.

About Me

I am a father of six and grandfather of 14. When I was younger I played in bands. Now I sing in the choir and occasionally play music with friends in the church. We have a couple of vintage cars and I enjoy talking to people across the world on ham radio.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church because I see the beauty of God's creation all around us. I know that God and Jesus Christ appeared to the prophet Joseph to restore His teachings in their fullness prior to His second coming. We have a prophet and twelve apostles today that lead the church and teach us the things that our Heavenly Father would have us do.

How I live my faith

I work with the men in our congregation to encourage them to visit with our members and watch over them. If one of our brothers or sisters needs assistance or just someone to talk to we want to be there for them. We strive to be followers of Christ and try to do that by serving others.

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is the authority to act in the name of God. When Jesus Christ called his twelve apostles when he was on the earth he laid his hands on their heads and gave them the power and authority to baptize, give the gift of the Holy Ghost and to establish his church throughout the world. That same priesthood was restored to mankind by the same servants that held the priesthood in Christ's day. Show more Show less
