Hi I'm Sam

I have two college degrees. The first in Petroleum Technology and the second in Nursing. I have done many different types of work, by my longest careers have been in the Petroleum industry and Nursing. I and my wife share the Nursing career, although we work part-time now and have yet another career as grandparents. It is the most fulfilling career yet.

Why I am a Mormon

I can't remember a time in my life when I haven't felt a deep connection to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have always been open to searching and study of religion, seeking agreement and understanding, embracing the truth I find. I was taught to seek and value highly the truth. I enjoy attending church with my family, and consider the members my friends. I enjoy the opportunities to give service. I value the knowledge and the teachings I have learned, and continue to learn. I value the importance of The Savior Jesus Christ that I study every day. I know that the world will be a better place if I follow the example that Jesus Christ set, and that I try to follow. I know the Savior Jesus Christ knows me and makes me a better person as I follow Him. I know that Family is the most important relationship we have. I love the opportunity to serve my family in The Temples. I know I am happy to be a member Of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

For over thirty years, I have been able to serve the members of my church and the communities that I have lived in. I have had many opportunities working in The Scouting Program as Assistant ScoutMaster, and First Aid Merit Badge Counselor. I have been assigned to teach children from 3 years to 18 years old the scriptures, as well as teaching adults. I have been able to develop lifelong friendships with fellow members of the church we attend, serving as home-teacher. It is at times a challenge to develop those friendships, but the challenge to become more than an unknown face in the crowd to those I serve is one that helps me to grow. One of my favorite service opportunities is to fix my top-secret " best beef brisket on earth" for a church social. The reward is fabulous food, great company, with nothing but good times to be enjoyed by all.
