Hi I'm Rowdy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors. My interests are hiking, skiing, golfing, and camping. I am happily married with 4 kids. I have went to College and received my degree. The highlight of my life is spending time as a family with my wife and kids. They are the one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

Why I am a Mormon

My Mom was a Catholic and then a Methodist. In 1969 she was baptized a member. I grew up in the gospel, but never went to church during my high school years. I went to the born again christian church with my brothers and attended their camps. Met a lot of great people there and had a pretty good experience with that. When I was in College I was hanging out with my good friend, and we started questioning the direction our lives were going. We were doing all the right things, but something was really missing. We both started going to church and I took the missionary discussions (highly recommended for anyone member or non-member). I read the Book of Mormon which is a book of scripture written from about 600 b.c. to 400 a.d. The majority of the book is set in the American Continent, and follows a group of people who we now know as Native Americans or Indians. They had prophets who taught of Jesus Christ and testified of him. Love this book and would recommend it to anyone. The Book of Mormon was translated into English in the early 1800's by a Prophet of God named Joseph Smith. Well, I read the book and prayed to God to know its truth. I received my answer and my life has been blessed because of this. I went on a mission to London, England to share with others my story and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love this church and my family is so blessed by the teachings of Jesus Christ. We are blessed to be taught by a prophet of God today. Teaching that have blessed my life are the life of the Savior, knowing that Christ died for my sins, knowing that we can and should live our lives in a clean way. Staying away from drugs, alcohol, and tobacco has blessed my family with health and strength. I have seen many people who have learned to overcome these substances because of their faith. Life is truly free when you are relying on Jesus Christ and not on a substance.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my actions. I like to share my faith with others, but I hope that the way I live my life with be a testament of the happiness the gospel of Jesus Christ brings. I am not even close to perfect by any means, but as the bible says we can be perfect through Jesus. I have been involved with the church in many ways. I have helped teach the youth, and see the blessings of the gospel when they live their lives by the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is nothing better than seeing a teenager who treats his Parents with respect and uses clean language, and tries to live his/her life as clean as he/she can. I have been involved with leadership in the church and have seen the blessings of repentance in peoples lives. Repentance through our Savior, Jesus Christ, is a refreshing thing. Having a heavy load of sin taken off your back through repentance is a life changing event. I am so grateful for my Savior who showed us the perfect example and died for our sins. I know we can live our lives the best we can through his example, and when we fall short we can seek forgiveness through repentance.
