Hi I'm Chris

I own a digital media company that helps indie authors publish their books. I also narrate audiobooks. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the husband of my sweetheart and the father to 4 wonderful boys. I grew up in a family with a younger sister and brother- all of us adopted. I write Young Adult sic-fi and modern fantasy thillers as well as creatively consult with a number of other YA authors. I went to elementary school in Tampa, FL, middle school in Baltimore, MD, moved to Colorado in high school and have been here ever since. I served an American Sign Language mission in the beautiful city of San Diego, CA. I attended Arizona State University and then transferred to the University of Colorado where I graduated with a degree in Psychology. I love traveling the world and have been to Europe, Canada, Mexico, India, and the Phillipines. I love to cook and try new foods. Finding that one great spot wherever you are is almost magical.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and come from Pioneer stock on both sides. But despite my heritage, my conversion happened over the course of many years. As a kid, I went to church with my family. My parents were my best examples and taught me from a very young age what love was. Ever since I can remember, my parents explained to me that I was adopted. Since they had a firm belief in eternal families, I was taught that Heavenly Father sent me to be with them. When my sister and brother came along, that message was just reinforced. Despite our genetics, we were a family. That strong family bond was the foundation of my belief in Jesus Christ. Because I knew my parents loved me, I knew that He loved me too. I had life changing experiences while serving the wonderful people of San Diego. These showed me that my Father in Heaven indeed listens to my prayers and that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is very real and very individual. After I was married and had kids, further experiences taught me how much Heavenly Father loves me, and how I could gain a personal relationship with Him and His Son. There have been countless miracles in my life, both those that I have witnessed and those that I have been recipient to. Add all of this up and mix in the tender feelings of love from the Holy Ghost, the love of my wife and children, and inspired friendships, and that becomes why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Currently I get up early every weekday and teach a scripture study class called Seminary to High School students. Each morning before school, these amazing young people come into my classroom and share their feelings about the Savior and their belief in His love. We study His words from the Old and New Testaments, His dealings with Moses and Abraham, how he guided and taught the ancient people's of the American continents as recorded in The Book of Mormon, and how He restored His gospel through Joseph Smith. My digital media company assists the local high schools with producing multimedia presentations for special needs students, teacher appreciation by the graduating seniors, and Eagle Scout projects to name a few. I love working with youth and helping them navigate one of the most challenging times in their lives.
