Hi I'm Carla

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom. I have 3 children, 2 boys and a girl. I love being with them. My husband and I are trying to teach them good morals and values. I love to cook and bake. Baking is a serious hobby. In my extended family I am the birthday cake maker. I love doing it. I am very active in my church and school community.

Why I am a Mormon

I am 1 of 3 girls. I was raised by a single mother. When I was 11, my mother starting meeting with the missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We had a friend who was a member of the church. My mother was interested immediately. She was open to the message the missionaries shared. My sisters and I took a little longer. One sister starting sitting in on the discussions with the missionaries, and she and my mother decided they wanted to be baptized. My mother came to me and told me her decision. She also invited me to listen to the gospel message. She told me that it was my decision; I did not have to join the church unless I knew it was true. We all started meeting with the missionaries as a family. Our lives changed. The gospel brought peace and happiness into our home. A kind of peace that was not there before. I learned how to pray and talk to Heavenly Father. I learned about Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon. I started to develop a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel message. We were all baptized together and all remain active in the church today. The gospel made my family even closer. It gave our lives purpose.

How I live my faith

I love to serve those around me. I get that from my amazing mother. She is always doing things for others. I am currently serving as the president of the Primary. The Primary is the children's organization for all children 18 months to 12 years old. I feel blessed to be surrounded by children every Sunday. They have amazing faith. They know who they are and that helps me to remember that I too am a child of God. I am also very active in my school community. I try to stay involved in the PTO (parent/teacher organization). I visit the classrooms of my children regularly. I help out whenever I can. I try to do good and I try to do it with a smile on my face.
