Hi I'm Joey Dicks

I love to write music. I'm married to a beautiful woman and a father of three. I'm a Florida Gator fan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Joey Dicks and I live in a small town in Florida named Lake Butler. I've been married to my wife, Tiffany, for four and a half years and we have three amazing children. I guess you could say I'm a big family man. It's everything to me. I work at a Wal-Mart distribution center nearby and am going to school full time to become a teacher. I love watching and participating in many sports, writing, reading, watching movies, and hanging out with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I know like many others in this world that Jesus Christ is the only true way to be eternally happy. I'm a Mormon simply because I believe that this is His church and teaches me more than any other how I can draw closer to Him and what i need to do to return to Him and my Heavenly Father. Through the teachings I've heard and felt I now know more fully who Jesus Christ is and of His all important mission. This church helps me to know who I am, that I'm a son of God and where I came from, why I'm here, and where I'm going after this life. The church is big on family and through the power and authority that is within the church my family has been sealed together forever or in other words as long as we are faithful and obedient to the commandments of God that we will always be together and that to me is true happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by having integrity and trying my best to do what God expects of me in every situation that I"m. Whether among strangers, family, or by myself. I try to follow Jesus and do what He did by helping those that can't help themselves and by lifting others up. That I know is the whole purpose behind the gospel of Christ is so that we can all strengthen each other. I try to show love to all and especially to my family. I attend my meetings weekly and read the word of God daily accompanied with prayer. I was baptized by one holding the authority of God and in that way manifested my faith to my Heavenly Father showing him outwardly that I was willing to serve Him forevermore.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Joey Dicks
This life is all about families and keeping families together, not only in this life but forever. I know that after we die we continue living as a spirit until the day that we are resurrected. If we choose to live the commandments of God and follow Him we can return back and live with Him and do so as a family unit. I have an amazing wife and three amazing children. I love them more than anything and the time that I spend with them. It saddens me deeply to think that I would not be able to be with them forever. I know through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that we can live that dream and always have each other. Families are what keeps up strong in this life. The church was organized by Jesus Christ to keep families strong. Without them we are destined to fail. By going to church and following the Savior my family have grown closer together in love and unity. We would not be completely happy if not for Jesus and His church. I know He lived, died for us, and still lives. And because He lives so can we all, even together as a family. Show more Show less
