Hi I'm Julie.

I'm a Mormon. My parents looked for a church all through my childhood and didn't find the Mormon church until after I was grown.

About Me

My husband and I met through the singles group in our stake. We were married in the Silver Spring, Maryland, temple. I have three sons and 9 grandchildren, who call me "Maga," another name for "grandmother." Reading is one of my interests, also walking, sewing, knitting and crochet. Our family enjoys keeping pets, usually large-breed dogs. Currently we have a cat.

Why I am a Mormon

I have three brothers and three sisters. My parents looked for a church during my childhood but didn't find the Mormon church until I was grown. The missionaries were invited into our home and after several months learning about the gospel my parents and some of my siblings decided to join the church. I needed to take some more time and was not ready until I read Moroni 10:4. Then I did as it directs and asked about the truthfulness of the gospel. I was happy to receive the knowledge that the gospel is true and was baptized about a year after my parents.

How I live my faith

I have enjoyed working in the church mostly with children. One of the most rewarding challenges was teaching the 18-month to three-year-old children in the nursery. The children are delightful. They have been well-taught by their parents and can answer gospel questions at their young ages. Currently I work with the women's group reporting to the leaders about visiting teaching done each month. Visiting teaching is an important part of membership in the church for me. I love getting to know other women in our ward through visiting in their homes and relating an inspired message then offering help when needed. I also appreciate having my visiting teachers come to my home each month and enjoy a discussion about the message for the month.
