Hi I'm Robert Whitmer

I'm a life-long Mormon. I grew up all over the place because my Dad was in the Military. Ask anything you want.

About Me

I have been married for 9 years. I have 4 children. I served my mission in two places. I started in the Buenos Aires West Mission. I had complications with a previous back surgery however and finished my mission in the California Arcadia Mission. I currently live and work as a Sales Manager with an insurance company here in the Austin, TX area.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because, like everyone else has to do, I made the choice to believe in the correct teachings of Jesus Christ. I enjoy the opportunity that I have to share the gospel with whomever will listen and whoever is willing to ask me questions. I know that what is taught in this church and what you will here on this website is true. I have come to that knowledge through the same process as everyone must; which is on my knees in prayer. I would hope that you choose the same.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by my example. I hope that others see me and wonder why I am so excited and why I do the things I do. We live a very different life from what non-Mormons consider normal. The guidelines we are asked to follow are not restrictions but are put there to give us more freedom in our lives if we follow them.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Robert Whitmer
Not all Mormons are required to serve a mission. We believe that Jesus Christ has asked, through His prophet here on the Earth, that all worthy young men ages 19-25 serve a 2 year mission. Even though we consider this a commandment from Christ himself, it is still the young mans choice weather to serve a full-time mission or not. If a young man does not feel ready or does not choose to go, he, in no way, is forced to serve a mission. Show more Show less
