Hi I'm Marcy

I grew up in Utah. I am a teacher, a wife, and a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with 2 brothers and 4 sisters. We didn't always get along with each other growing up but now we are all best friends and I love coming from a large family. I met my husband my sophomore year of college and we were married 10 months later. I often call him my soul mate because it just seems we were meant for each other. We had our first child after 2 years of marriage and our second a short 11 months later. People often think they are twins. We now have another baby and nothing brings me more satisfaction than being a mom. I worked hard to finish my degree in Elementary Education while I had kids and I am so grateful that I did. I love to play volleyball, softball, and I recently found a love of running. I've ran half marathons, marathons, Ragnars, and everything in between. I love music! I love the guitar, piano, and singing. I used to write songs but can't seem to find the time for that lately being a busy mom! I am so blessed to have the life I do and even though it isn't always peaches and cream I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My parents were so diligent in teaching us to do what the Lord wanted. We read from the scriptures and had family prayer every morning. I never doubted that my parents had faith and knowledge that this is His true church. I leaned on that testimony until I was old enough to gain one of my own. For the longest time I thought that maybe I didn't have a testimony. I remember going somewhere quiet and praying that God would tell me in some way that the Church was true. I always expected some miraculous event and when it didn't happen I would get frustrated and wonder what was wrong with me. I did this more times than I could remember. I finally made a decision that I wouldn't let myself doubt. I felt an undeniable sense of peace and comfort. It wasn't until then that I realized I had always known that this was His true church. God doesn't always help us in the ways we expect and I have come to recognize that he speaks to us all in different ways. For me, He speaks softly to my heart in quiet moments, sending me peace of mind and heart because that is what I need the most. For others they feel a burning fire. He knows what we need. I am glad that I now have a testimony of His gospel so I can teach my children in His ways. I want them to be able to lean on me as I did on my parents. I know that we have a Heavenly Father and that he loves us each and he knows us perfectly and personally. I know that he sent his Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to this earth to atone for our sins. I am so grateful for them both, for their love, and the blessings that have come from my being a member of this church.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in every moment of my life, from the moments at home with my children, to the moments in church, and especially the moments when I am with those who aren't members of our faith. I want to be a good example and show them how happy the gospel has made me. I try to serve the people around me whether they are members of the church or not. My children and I love to make cookies and deliver them to our neighbors and friends. When people are sick or in need we like to take them dinner to show that we care about them.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Marcy
The most joy I get in life is because of my family and I am so grateful that I know we will be together forever. I love my children and husband so much. I cannot imagine not seeing them again after death. I ache for the people who have no knowledge of God's plan for families to be together forever when they lose a loved one. I am so grateful that my husband and I were married and sealed in the temple for time and all eternity! Show more Show less
