Hi I'm Brandon

Born in San Francisco, but I'm a Utah boy. I love Ultimate (frisbee), and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music, I love listening to all kinds of music, expecially those kinds that I can sing along with. I participated in my high school marching band for all 4 years, I'm a trombone player. I'm the third oldest of 8 kids, 4 boys and 4 girls. I want to be a doctor someday, I love school and excelling in anything I choose to do. I love to be active, and I play most sports: basketball, soccer, baseball, football, volleyball, you name it. I didn't play any of those in high school or college, but I did play Ultimate (frisbee). Yes, that's a sport, and it's my favorite thing to do. I was taught by others who played every friday, but I wanted it to become more. So after graduating I actually came back and coached the high school team that I had begun. I love movies and television series, which means I love Netflix and Red-Box. A perfect day for me would include playing a couple hours of Ultimate with friends, going to eat at Wendys afterwards, and then going to a movie or seeing one at a friend's house.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always been a member, my parents are members, and the rest of my family are members. Growing up in the gospel has been a blessing and a challenge for me. You have the advantage of learning the gospel from a young age, but it also means that people expect a lot more of you. But without the gospel, I don't know where I would be or the kind of person I would be. My faith in God is one of the greatest strengths for me. Whenever I think about doing something that could drive the Spirit away, I think of the Savior, and whether or not He would approve of what I was doing or about to do. So I continue to be a member of the church because I know it's true. I didn't want to tell other people I'm only a member because my parents took me to church. So I studied, searched and prayed, and I know by the power of the Holy Ghost that this is the true church. So I'm always happy to tell other people of any faith that I'm a Mormon, and that they should be too.

How I live my faith

I've participated in the youth programs of the church and Scouting, earning my Eagle. I loved working with the other youth, going on campouts and playing basketball in the church cultural hall (aka the gym). In my young singles adults ward I served as ward photographer and as a ward missionary. I'm currently serving a mission in Baltimore, Maryland and sharing the gospel with people of all faiths. Talking with everybody, spanish and english, has really shown me how the restored gospel of Jesus Christ can change lives. I'm honored to be serving the Lord and to be bringing the message of the Restoration of the Gospel to the people.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Brandon
We believe the grace of God to be sufficient to save all mankind and bring them back to his presence. We also believe that there needs to be some effort made on our part. We are responsible for the things we do, and when we stand before God in the last day, we're going to be judged. His grace didn't excuse us from our actions, what it did was provide the opportunity and the power to change. We want to be more like Jesus Christ, our perfect example, and to live happily. The Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ helps us to know how we can take advantage of his grace and love, so that we can change and become a new person. Show more Show less
