Hi I'm Josh

I'm a Texan. I've lived all over. I'm a Sports fanatic. I served a mission in Idaho. I married my best friend and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am probably close to your stereotypical Texan: I like guns, trucks and football. I love watching sports: mainly College Football and NHL Hockey. But I love all kinds of sports! I love watching movies! Mostly action and comedies but all movies are good. I am the middle child of 5 in my family and am currently serving a mission. I am not the first missionary in my family and won't be the last. I attended school at BYU-Idaho, and hope to continue going to school there after the mission. After schooling however, one day I hope to work for the FBI. I've lived in Singapore, England and Texas and have traveled around the world. I worked as a lifeguard and love swimming. I also love all kinds of music, and keeping fit at the gym. I love my family and friends, they love me and support me through the hard times, and the good times. I also enjoy scuba diving and traveling. I also love to laugh, so comedy and jokes are a plus. I have come to LOVE the Hispanic culture in the course of my mission, and hope to visit Central / South America in the coming years. The food, language, and culture are just awesome. I have become a fluent Spanish speaker and I am so excited to use this language for the rest of my life! I also hope I can become an advocate of the Hispanic culture that is so heavily prevalent here in the United States. I am hoping one day I can be a Father who provides for the needs of his family like mine has for me.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though i was raised into the church I still one day had to find the answer for myself. My answer may have not come instantly or like the "flick of the lights" but slowly I came to know that this was God's church on the earth. Something important was the spirit I could feel everytime I went to church, there is no denying it. One experience I had was attending a youth camp, EFY, where I was able to feel the spirit really strong, read the scriptures, and bear my testimony. This church also gives me direction in life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ and his teachings help me know what to do. Growing up in the church has been a huge blessing and because of my faith I know what my purpose in life is, where I am going and who I have to be. This church helps me learn about Jesus Christ and how he is our Savior. I have personally seen the difference the church can make in families, and have seen the lasting effects as my family has lived the gospel. I have also seen friends end up on the wrong path without this same direction in their lives, and I just wish everyone could have this same faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. God truly is our Loving Heavenly Father and I know this because my prayers have been answered, and he has helped me through my afflictions. Having this great blessing in my life, I left everything behind for 2 years to share this with others - in the Idaho Pocatello Mission!

How I live my faith

I love everyone, and I strive everyday to serve my fellow neighbor. I have been able to serve so many people in my mission and I love also helping bring them the gospel so they can come to same knowledge that I have that we have a Father in Heaven that loves us, and wants us to make it back to him. As a missionary, I am a disciple of Christ but we must always continue to love and serve others like our Savior did. I love trying to better be an example of Jesus Christ in all I do and say, "be thou an example of the believers". I love any kind of service, I got to help clean up down in Texas after Hurricane Ike came through and it was good seeing all the "mormon helping hands" down there. I've also helped build houses out in Cambodia which is an experience which changed my perspective forever.
