Hi I'm Steve

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Dad, a husband and a college professor. I love to spend time with my beautiful wife. I enjoy sports, especially watching my kids play soccer and swim. I played American football for years. I also enjoy the outdoors and music. I speak Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon church. My parents were very active in the church. However, I had to find out for myself that God loved me and that following his commandments would help me to be happy. I had a special experience when I was around 14 that helped me to know that I was a child of a loving Heavenly Father. After that experience, some personal trials and a number of small spiritual experiences throughout my teenage years and adult life have brought me to where I am today. I consider myself a very blessed individual. I feel God's love every day and I am happy. Yes, there are trials in life but I know that I can overcome anything and be successful in my marriage, my work and my personal life as I follow the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have a picture of Christ in each of the rooms in our home, along with many family photos. That is who I am and I thank God for the happiness that I feel.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday with my family. I am responsible for the youth in our ward (a congregation of the church made up of about 400 members). I have the opportunity to teach both the youth and the adults. I spend time every summer going to a youth camp, participating in fun outdoor activities and teaching them about Jesus Christ and his gospel. A young man and I are responsible for visiting two families in our ward monthly to teach them and serve them. Many times we help mow their lawn or do home repairs. It is a great blessing in my life to serve in the church.
