Hi I'm Shelby Ane

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a full-time student going to college. I work at the college as a student custodian, and absolutely love my job! I was born and raised in south-eastern Idaho but have always had a huge love for learning about and exploring different cultures all across the world. I love to bake, watch movies, and work out. Recently, I became engaged to the most wonderful man I could have ever imagined, and we are set to get married in the Idaho Falls temple on September 1st! This is my dream come true. Ever since I was a young child, it was always my biggest dream to find the man of my dreams, get sealed in the temple for all time and eternity, and raise a family all my own.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was born into the church (my parents both being very active members) I had to become "converted" myself. I had always grown up on their testimonies, believing all we were taught in the gospel was true, and that this was just the way it was. It wasn't until I started getting older, about my mid-teens, that I began really looking at things and wondering if it was really what I believed in. By the time I was 17, I had been through many hard trials that had helped testify to me - things such as having a close one pass away, getting the news that I had cancer - Melanoma, and making life-changing decisions. But even then, I had felt the spirit guiding me and I THOUGHT I knew, but did I really? It wasn't until my first semester in college - I was sitting on my couch at home one day reading out of the Book of Mormon, again questioning in my head whether or not everything was REALLY true. And suddenly, it came. Not some overwhelming answer. Not some angel appearing or giant miracle. It came so small, but so sure. The thought just popped into my head, and I knew it had to be my Father in Heaven, saying "Shelby, stop this doubting. You know it is true. You have ALWAYS known it was true." And from then on, I knew down to my very core that this gospel is the true and living gospel of Jesus Christ in these Latter Days. There is still much I have to learn about it, there is SO much to learn about it, but even those things I don't yet understand or know, I still know they are all true. Every last bit of it. Because this IS Christ's gospel. HE yet lives, and has atoned for us. He wants us to come home to Him, and He will guide us every step of the way to be sure we do make it safely back home to him. There isn't a doubt in my mind. His gospel has it all - explains it all - and is everything. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I absolutely LOVE all the activities our church has for us! We have many events that are just fun to get to know each other and get out and be around others. Parties, picnics, campouts, and many other activities. The church isn't just all about trying to convert others and make them come to church - we want to be friends with everyone as well. These events also aren't just for members -anyone can come to any event we have! One big way I live my faith is simply by talking to others and being a friend. We all have a story to tell - we all come from different backgrounds. I love opportunities to make new friends, and should they be curious, to inform them about what I believe in.
