Hi I'm Josh

I grew up in Arizona. I'm serving a mission in Alaska. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Arizona, mainly around Prescott, Arizona. I went to a semester of college at BYU-Idaho, then moved to Colorado with my family. I am currently in Alaska serving a mission, and loving it! I love to play soccer and be outdoors hiking or riding bikes. I want to go to school as a Physical Therapist when I get home, but until then I will just keep enjoying Alaska and serving the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church, but like everyone else, I needed my own testimony, and my own answer that this church is true. I simply knelt down and prayed about it. My answer didn't come immediately, but it was as I continued to pray with a sincere heart, really wanting to know the answer, that I got it. My answer didn't come as a thunderous noise or anything, but it came as a good feeling. I know Jesus Christ's true church has been restored through the prophet Joseph Smith, because the Holy Ghost boar witness of it to me.

How I live my faith

Our best example is Jesus Christ, so I think the best thing to do is simply live as he did. Sadly, it is harder than it sounds, but I live my faith by going to church every week and just practicing what we preach. It is important to be that example to all of those around you. Right now I am serving a mission in Alaska, and go around teaching about the Gospel every day. There is nothing I would rather be doing right now.

What is faith?

Faith, like it says in Alma 32:21, is to "hope for things which are not seen, which are true." I have always liked the primary song that talks about faith. It says, "faith is knowing the sun will rise, lighting each new day." "Faith is like a little seed, if planted it will grow." That is what faith is. It is when you trust that something will happen, or trust in something that we do not have a perfect knowledge of. We don't know 100% that the sun will rise tomorrow, but we have faith that it will.
