Hi I'm Tina

I'm a Californian, Optician, Mother of four and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Let's see if I can make this interesting; I'm a working single parent who loves her co-workers and her career. Even though I've been working as an Optician over 10 years, I still think there's something else out there for me. My hobbies are stencil painting and reading. The painting I can only get to do when I can find the extra time but reading is an everyday thing. I love books! I have four great kids and just became a grandmother for the first time. I am totally in love with my grandbaby and spend as much time as I possibly can with her.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, my story is probably a common one. I was going through a really hard time in my life and was having a chat/therapy session with the mother of my daughter's friend. She listened and asked if I had a solid faith. I had been raised a Baptist and always had a strong belief in God and Jesus; yet I hadn't followed my faith or made it a part of my everyday life. She asked if I'd like to be visited by missionaries from her church and I was glad to accept her offer. A week or so later, two missionairies knocked on my door and began to talk and meet with me every week. I listened with great interest because I love learning about new things. When they asked me to read the Book of Mormon and pray and ask God if the words therein were true; I remember doing so and knowing in my heart without a doubt that the things I had been taught and read were true and factual. Next thing I knew, my joy was returning, things weren't so bad anymore, I was able to see the positive instead of the negative in the things that were happening in my life. I'll never forget the faces of those Missionaries. I'll never forget the day I was baptised and became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

At this time I live my faith by keeping to my promises I've made to God. I read my scriptures and pray for better understanding. I think it's so important to include God in my everyday life so I find myself thanking him even for the little things. I hope to be more active in community and church in the next month.
