Hi I'm Scott

I am a cancer survivor, a father of six girls, a grandfather, a triathlete, a business consultant, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Through the grace of God I am a colon cancer survivor. I thank the Lord every day for the gift of life. I have been married to the most remarkable woman for 32 years. We have six beautiful girls, and 5 incredible grandchildren that we cherish and love. As a business consultant, I have the privilege of advising several organizations throughout the world. Therefore, I enjoy business travel, where meeting new people, and experiencing new cultures is the norm. I find the challenge of surviving and thriving in today's crazy world to be a thrilling and rewarding adventure. I enjoy triathlons, history, and being home with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

There are 4 reasons that I am a Mormon: 1. God has restored the true church of Jesus Christ to the earth. During his earthly ministry Jesus Christ established his church. Shortly after the death of his apostles Jesus Christs' church and the authority to perform saving ordinances were lost to the people of the earth. God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ returned to the earth in 1820 to Joseph Smith and restored their church and proper authority once again to the earth. I am so grateful that God loves us all enough to restore his church to the earth. 2. There is a living prophet on the earth today. Throughout the centuries God has called prophets to stand as his witnesses upon the earth. Prophets such as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Isaiah have been powerful witnesses of the Lord on the earth. Since God's visitation to Joseph Smith there has always been a living prophet on the earth. Today the Lord's prophet is Thomas S. Monson. 3. The Book of Mormon is another witness of Jesus Christ. Just as the Bible is a sacred record of God's dealings with his children in the old world, so the Book of Mormon is a sacred record of God's dealings here in the new world. It contains the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, as taught by himself, to the people in ancient america soon after his resurrection in Jerusalem. The spirit of the Lord has witnessed to me that the Bible is the word of God, in like manner, his spirit has given me that same witness, the Book of Mormon is true. 4. Families are eternal. God placed us in families because he loves us. It is in the family that the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ are best taught and lived. God has restored his authority for husbands and wives to be married for eternity, and for their children to be sealed to them as a family in holy temples. Nothing is as important to me in this life, as my family. How grateful I am for the knowledge that our family can be together forever.

How I live my faith

We are all God's children, I know that He loves every one of us. There are 4 ways that I consistently feel His love. 1. Serving others is one of the quickest ways to feel His love. For me, serving my own family is the most important place to start. I find most people treat their clients and their work associates better than they do their own family. I believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is first to be lived at home. It is in the home that our greatest work in done in this life. After serving in the home, then I can authentically serve others in my life. When I serve others I feel God's love. 2. Jesus taught, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." As I strive to keep his commandments I find greater peace and joy. As I fail to keep his commandments, I turn to Him in prayer and ask for his forgiveness. He is quick to forgive, for which I am very grateful. Jesus also taught, to be forgiven, we must be willing to forgive others. I pray often for power to forgive others. When I forgive others I feel God's love for me. 3. I find that daily worship is critical for me to feel God's love. As I pray, read scripture, and strive to follow his gospel each day, I find it easier to follow him and feel his love. 4. Finally, I attend church each week to pause and remember what Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have done for me. It is wonderful to attend church with other believers, they strengthen my faith and provide support for me in following God and His Son Jesus Christ. My favorite part of the worship service is when I partake of the bread and water in memory of Jesus' sacrifice for us. As I do so it fills my soul with joy and I feel God's love for me. I love God and His Son Jesus Christ. I know they live and love me and all mankind.
