Hi I'm Drew

I am from Oklahoma, I'm a TV consultant, I'm a sports fanatic, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I'm engaged to the love of my life, Michelle. I'm also college student struggling to get good grades. I've served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Washington state (Washington Kennewick Mission). I love the feelings that come from learning and teaching, in fact it's what I want to do. I love sports and anything athletic. I'm excitable and passionate and I definitely laugh at my own jokes more than you will.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of two wonderful people named Mom and Dad. I know there are countless others I could thank for their faith and example, but it really has come back to the two of them. Were it not for the principles I learned while in their household I wouldn't have gained, through experience, the knowledge and capacity to make correct decisions that I now possess. I believe that I am Mormon today because of a witness I had to literally experience for myself. It wasn't a feeling or thought that I could fake, it was something a lot bigger and a lot more powerful than me at work. And because of what I've studied, found, and prayed about I am a Mormon still today. I'm not living off borrowed light anymore.

How I live my faith

Well, I was mission prep teacher in my area. I taught young men and women who desire to serve the Lord for 18 to 24 months how to prepare, as well as what they must do, personally, preparatory to being a full-time missionary! It's the most exciting thing, because I see kids just like I was, who are seeing the gospel or teachings of Jesus Christ a completely new way and becoming excited about it themselves! Now, I'm trying to help others just as I did for two years see the blessings for living for Christ!

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God is our Father, we are His children. He is perfect, glorified, and immortal. He has a body, the likeness of which ours have been created after. One cannot be immortal without having a body, and God is no different. He knows and loves us each perfectly, and individually. His purpose is to help us return to live with Him again someday. God is powerful and gentle, and His mercy knows no bounds. His thoughts are always upon us, for that is how a Parent acts towards His children, and He weeps with us when we are sad and rejoices when we are successful. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

It was and is the most important and pivotal act that ever took place in the history of mankind. It began with Christ's suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane and culminated after His death and burial when He overcome death by being the "firstfruits of them that slept" (1 Corinthians 15:20-22), or in other words, He was resurrected. It is important to realize that this event is for all mankind to be blessed by, and we can all benefit from it fully if we but live His teachings! The doctrine of Christ that we MUST live is to have faith in Christ, continually repent of our sins, be baptized by one holding the proper authority in Christ's Church, receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and live faithfully to the end of our lives. This is how we can be redeemed from our sins. No other person can offer you that, no other One can even offer you that. "That" meaning immortality (living forever) and freedom from sin (a pain and burden that none of us should wish to carry). What would you or I have to lose if we believed in a Man who-when carefully examined-stands as a sure example of what each of us should live like?! Try following His prescribed path and enter into the gate and see the blessings follow. Show more Show less
