Hi I'm Carolyn

I'm a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a student, and a leader. I love laughing, smiling and corny jokes. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love people. I love talking to them, studying them, and building relationships with them. I guess that's why I'm studying Sociology and Psychology. I'm also a big fan of the health field. I love everything about it. Blood, cuts, and guts? I'm in to it. But, I'm also a big fan of healing. I'm a hard core student and I put a lot of effort into making the most out of my education and thankfully it shows. At the same time I know what matters most. I adore my family and I am always eager to be with them. I love to travel. I have had many opportunities to visit various countries and have gained a greater appreciation for the diversity in our world. Each time I immediately find new friends and I am able to share what my secret to a happy life is. I can't cook worth beans, but that doesn't stop me from doing other domestic things, like sewing. I absolutely love laughing and smiling. At the end of the day my cheeks usually hurt because I have been laughing or smiling so much. I can't help it. I have way too much to be happy about to not smile. I'm embarrassed easily but that doesn't stop me from trying new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I know my life has a purpose and a plan. I'm not here to just figure things out and hope for the best. I know that I am a daughter of God. How do I know this? I have prayed to a loving Heavenly Father who will always listen to my prayers and answer them. I have been a member my whole life and I continue to follow the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ because I want to be with him again someday. I am eternally grateful for the missionaries who taught and baptized my dad when he was only 11. I know that having the gospel in my life has blessed me beyond measure. Though I have great examples of followers of Christ in my life, I needed to know for myself if this was indeed the true church on Earth. The gospel of Jesus Christ is not passive, it is active, meaning you have to actually put forth effort. By having the desire to know if the church was true, reading and studying the Book of Mormon and praying with a question that I wanted answered I sought to ask my Heavenly Father if it was true and I received my answer. I have no greater happiness than when I am following the commandments and I will continue to do so because I know, without a doubt, that this is the true church.

How I live my faith

Service is a huge part of being a Mormon. No one is paid for their leadership roles or for the way the church is run. I have had several leadership roles within the church and I currently have the opportunity to look after a group of wonderful young single women (18-30) and take care of them by giving them lots of love and kindness in their lives , kind of like a built in friend that will always be there for you. It is my responsibility to make sure that they are receiving the care they need and are progressing towards the ultimate goal of living with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again. Outside of church I am involved in an academic clubs that is for students who rank in the top 15% of their class, a health club for future health care providers, and various other clubs that help me to be a better person by encouraging service and become more like Jesus Christ through serving others.
