Hi I'm Sarah Jane

I am from Utah; I graduated with a degree in art; I love to travel; I am inspired by everything around me; and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 24 years old. I graduated from college in 2010 with a degree in graphic design. I love art of all kinds. 'Hands on' is the best style of learning for me. I love to travel. I am happy going to a different city in Utah, or a country on the other side of the world. I love the outdoors. Camping, biking, hiking, boating, swimming, and horseback riding are among my favorite outdoor activities. I love to cook and to sew and to learn new things. I have dreams of one day starting my own company and traveling the world. I am serving a mission for the LDS church in Tallahassee Florida and I love seeing the gospel change peoples lives. The gospel is truly what makes me happy and has shaped me to be the person I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints, but never REALLY knew that I believed its teachings until I was a freshman in college living on my own. It was a time in my life where I was figuring out who I was and what I believed. After deciding to live by the teachings of the church, my faith and testimony has grown in so many ways. I have had prayers answered and truly know that god is mindful of me and my actions that he loves me and that he is there whenever I need him; because of the experiences I have had I no longer just believe that he is there but I know he is.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to show my faith by the way I live. I have held a number jobs within the church, but mostly I live my faith by trying each and everyday to be more like my savior, Jesus Christ; To be a good person and to serve everyone around me.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Sarah Jane
The gift of the Holy ghost is one of the most incredible gifts that we can be given. Before we are baptized, we can feel the influence or the power of the Holy Ghost testifying of truth when we are at church, reading the scriptures or meeting with missionaries. After we are baptized we are given the gift of the holy ghost and promised the constant companionship as long we are are doing good things and we are worthy to have it. The holy ghost comes to each person differently, but is more often than not Felt, rather than Heard, but even then if we are not paying attention to the way we feel or the thoughts in our head, it is easy to miss its quiet and gentle promptings. The Holy ghost is really a jack of all trades. He can do many different things for us depending on our needs. Personally in my life, I have been blessed because I have felt the Holy Ghost warn me of things I shouldnt be doing, give me comfort when I need it, Testify of truths I am learning, answer questions I have been praying for, and prompt me to do certain things in my life. I am grateful to have the Holy Ghost in my life and I have been blessed in many ways by its influence. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Sarah Jane
Missionaries will share things about this gospel that will help bless your life in every way. I am currently a missionary for the Church and we go to people houses sharing with them a message of God and his love for each of his children (yep, that means you), and of Christ and what he did for everyone that has ever lived on earth. More specifically we share a series of lessons that will teach you the basics of our doctrine. Some of these lessons will include how the church was restored to the earth, what gods plan is for each of us, the first principles and ordinances of the gospel, and some of gods commandments. Although everyone needs to hear the same lessons and receive the same doctrine, the things we teach are catered to you and your life and your situations that you are going through. The more open you are with the missionaries, the better they can help you understand exactly how this gospel can bless your life personally, and I know it can bless every ones life... no matter who you are because god knows each of his children personally, and cares about everyone of them. His messengers (being the missionaries) are inspired of him to carry our his work and to take his gospel to anyone willing to receive it . Show more Show less
