Hi I'm Bennett Whitwood

I grew up, and currently live in Mesa Arizona. I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm attending college, and looking forward to the future. I love to go camping, I go whenever I get the chance. I also love other outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and swimming. If I'm not out doing something I like to listen to music or be in the kitchen cooking something. I also love to help other people whenever I can, one of the quickest ways to make my day better is for me to help someone else make their day better. I'm a pretty active person, I don't really like sitting around and not doing anything. This life is a gift that you only get once, so I like to do my best to enjoy every moment of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the LDS church because I know that it's the way that the Lord has given us to be happy in this life. Christ established a church when he was on the earth, but then it was lost because the people at that time rejected his original church. The Lord loves us though, so because of his love for us his true church was brought back to the earth. I have made living the commandments that the Lord gave us in the Bible and in other scriptures like the Book of Mormon a priority in my life, and I recognize that without actively participating in the true Church of Christ it's impossible for me to keep my life in harmony with his teachings. The world offers us empty pleasure and temporary happiness, but the Lord offers us inner peace and eternal joy. I have this peace and joy in my life, and I've obtained it by living the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I just got back from a two year mission in Panama, where I taught other people what I know to be true about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Currently I serve in my church by coordinating with other members to plan weekly activities where member of our church can learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and have a little fun in good company. I also visit the houses of some of the members of the church on a monthly basis to help them in any way they might need. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is one of service, it's not always convenient to take time to serve others, but it's always worth it to make someone's day a little better.
