Hi I'm Beverley

I'm a fun loving Queenslander who's a 1st generation Mormon, I like chocolate and collecting Barbie dolls and yes I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 18 years now to a wonderful man who is also my best friend; we have 2 children who bring a lot of love and laughter to our lives. I chose to be an at home mum while they were little as I felt that was the right place for me to be, you only get one chance to raise your children. I have since returned to the work force as a dental assistant, a job that brings me great satisfaction as I help comfort people at what can be a very stressful time in their lives. Family and friends enrich my life and as such are very important to me. I love to read books (fact or fiction) for me it’s a way of expanding my knowledge or escaping for a little while. I also find enjoyment in baking for family and friends, I love watching documentaries and learning about new things, listening to good music and watching my kids play sports. I have recently had the chance to travel overseas I am fascinated by the world around me and can't wait to discover more about other people and the places they call home.

Why I am a Mormon

I was not always a Mormon, growing up I had no religious beliefs; I joined the church at 19 after my best friend introduced me to the missionaries. I guess I joined the church because the things they taught me sounded like a good way to live my life and would help make me a better person. But now after more than 20 years as a member I now realise that not only did it sound good, but that it is the way I’m meant to live my life. Knowing the Saviour makes the world of difference and guides me in how I choose to live. The gospel helps me to keep a focus on what is real and matters most in my life and makes me happy. That’s not to say that I don't have my share of troubles, but I can put them in perspective and handle them better because of the understanding that I have.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by remembering that we are all children of God and that he loves you as much as he loves me. I have helped out in church in many areas from teaching lessons to giving talks, cooking meals, organising activities and visiting church members. I love going to church on Sundays as a family and being with people who hold the same values that I do. But my faith is with me every day of the week it helps me to make wise choices not just for me but for my family.
