Hi I'm Wendy

I'm a mother, a wife, a Navy veteran, a nurse and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom of three precious children with a nursing degree I use on them everyday! I have yet to work a day in the hospital, but instead am focusing my energy on raising our children. Work will always be there, while the little hand prints on the window pane, and pitter patter on the tile and the lullabys in the rocker and the kisses on the skinned knees won't. It is my greatest joy to be a mother. I grew up with a love of exercising, especially running. So when my sister decided to join the military it sounded like fun, I could exercise all day long and see the world!! I was mainly interested in joining the Marines but I was drawn to the medical field of the Navy. I was promised that I would get stationed with the Marines and not have to see a ship. To my surprise, my first duty station was attached to a hospital ship. I was pretty discouraged as I was hoping to be on land with the Marines. Shortly after recieving my orders I was in an institute (religious) class that our church held on base for LDS service members. I remember feeling pretty bummed out and something the teacher said caught my attention, he said, "It's not the location, it's the direction." Hearing this immediately changed my entire perspective on my new assignment and has since been a guide for me to live my life by. Having the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life gives me the eternal perspective I need to keep my life headed in the right direction-toward my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. However, my parents were divorced when I was nine. My dad remained in the church while my mom chose not to go. I primarily lived with my mom and was given the choice to go to church or not. Through the strength and support and love of my youth leaders I was nurtured and strengthened in the gospel. I felt truly loved and cared for. As I continued to go to church my testimony grew of the eternal truths of the gospel. Line upon line I came to a clear knowledge for myself that Jesus is the Redeemer of the world, that His church has been restored through the prophet Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that we have a living prophet who is called of God to guide us in these last days. The expereieces I have had from my youth and into adulthood have continued to solidify my faith.

How I live my faith

The knowledge that families can be together forever is the greatest blessing on earth and gives me incentive to improve, to progress, and to do my best. I am married to my best friend. We have been married for almost 12 years and I believe that the happy marriage we have is directly related to the love and devotion we have for our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. It is the perfect marriage formula, it will never fail. The more we sincerely try to grow closer to the Lord the closer we grow to eachother. As members of the church we believe in God, the Eternal Father and in His Son, Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost. They are three seperate beings. I am grateful for the Holy Ghost, also known as the comforter, the Spirit of the Lord. The spirit guides me daily in the choices that I make. I feel at peace knowing that I can have the spirit to guide me in all things, whether big or small, all I have to do is ask and be willing to listen and act upon the feelings I get. The power of prayer is amazing, it is the most important part of the day. I feel so blessed to know that Heavenly Father knows me and loves me and hears and answers my prayers. I need Him in my life. I truly would be lost without Him. I know that I am a daughter of God, knowing that gives me strength, courage and confidence in standing up for what is right and good. The gospel is for everyone. It is true. The burning feelings within your heart are the promptings of the Holy Ghost testifying of the truthfulness of this great gospel. Every good thing comes from Christ. Being from Arizona we have the most beautiful sunsets in the west. I often ponder as I watch the sun setting, knowing that it is not really setting but the earth turning and I think of the significant symbolism that has in relation to the Savior as He is known as the light of the world. The earth revolves around the sun, and it is in perfect harmony. As we choose to revolve our lives around the Son of God, we to can be in perfect harmony.
