Hi I'm Lamont

I'm a Endodontist. Having a wonderful family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 4 time grandpa of 53. I live a very active lifestyle. My wife and I (frequently joined by an entourage) love to travel throughout the US and periodically Internationally. I love to snowboard in the winte. Cycle & golf in the summer. My hobbies include photography & cooking. I have an wonderful family and great friends

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon in an Latterday-Saint community. My father was a nonbelieving Mormon and my mother was a Protestant. I wasn't interested in the church growing up, but all my friends were practicing LDS. When I was a Junior in High School--I was challenged by my best Friend to read the Book of Mormon. I read it with the intention of disputing it or scoffing at it. However, as I became involved with the characters of the book I softened. As I reads on I became self-motivated to pray concerning its message--being my first true prayer of my life. I was immediately overwhelmed by the Spirit of the Lord which converted me then and there. Now the hard part--I had been touched by the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon but to extrapolate that to becoming a faithful Latter-day Saint was a quantum leap Over the next several months I became fully converted and a zealot for the faith. I was new in the LDS culture-but I adapted quickly due to kind and loving friends and LDS ward members. At 19 I served an LDS mission to NYC and loved the city & its people Since then I'm convinced angels have been carrying me through life--Though we have our share of faith challenging difficulties-the Lord has been there with his "tender mercies" to see me and my family through. Since my conversion: My mother has joined the church and has been endowed in the temple, 2 of my 3 siblings and their families are active in the church and have been sealed in the temple. I've been married to my eternal companion for over 30 wonderful years and have raised 3 beautiful daughters--One served LDS spanish speaking mission to Houston & 2 of 3 children are temple married and are raising their own wonderful eternal famiies 3 years ago my wife served a medical mission to West Africa. She commited to sponsor an African young man for a US education. He later joined the church & has been called to serve a mission in Arizona Blessings this gospel has provided for me and my family has been: "PRICELESS"

How I live my faith

I have recently been called to serve as Bishop of my ward. I am new to this responsiblity and thus am a work in progress. I feel an deep love for all the members of our congregation and am overwhelming grateful for their dedication and faith. My previous responsibility was to teach a Gospel Doctrine class (indepth study of the scriptures)--I loved that calling--Due to the spiritually growth experienced by myself and others while feasting on the words of Christ. I also taught early morning seminary (scripture teaching to high school students prior to school 6-7am) last year which was a blast. Periodically, we sponsor groups to go on can good drives for homeless shelters. We also do activities like working on the church welfare farm--which provides food for the needy
