Hi I'm Ashley

Let me tell you why I decided to be a Mormon...

About Me

I grew up in a military family where I learned to make the best of any situation. I like running & playing tennis and I'm learning to play the guitar (thanks to youtube!). I work part time as a legal assistant and go to school full time at a university. Science fascinates me and I hope to someday earn a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy.

Why I am a Mormon

I know inside of myself that God is aware of each of us and communicates with us on an individual level when we seek Him. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints had all of the right answers to all of my questions. When I pray, I feel a great peace of mind and a strong assurance that this Gospel is true. I am Mormon because I have felt a sure knowledge that Jesus Christ himself surely inspired the organization of this church. There is no other way its teachings could be so perfect and so complete.

How I live my faith

We are taught to seek truth for ourselves, through study, prayer, and action. I test the teachings of this Gospel by implementing them in my life and making them a part of who I am. As I do this, I find myself becoming a better person - closer to my Savior and happier in all aspects of my life. I read from scriptures and pray to my Heavenly Father daily. It's these simple things that give me constant strength and the assurance that God is real, and that He knows me.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

The Bible itself tells us a restoration is necessary. Prophets of the Old Testament told of a time when there would be a thirst for knowledge, but a famine of the truth. For a long time there was nobody on the Earth who had authority to act in Christs name, and only pieces of the truth remained. There were no baptisms by immersion as John the Baptist had taught. There was no priesthood power, with which the Apostles had performed miracles. There was no Gift of the Holy Ghost, which Paul bore testimony of. There were no more Temples like there had been in the Old Testament. All of these pieces have been put together again, through divine revelation from Jesus Christ. He directs this church through a Prophet now... just like he did in the past. We have Apostles, Baptism, the Holy Ghost, Temple Ordinances, the Priesthood .... all of these things are restored in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Show more Show less
