Hi I'm Elder Ulloa

I grew up in Brisbane, Australia. I am a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints & I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love being of Chilean decent; the foods, the dancing, the love. I enjoy singing, playing the guitar, practicing martial arts, playing video games with my friends and getting competitive while playing some basketball or soccer. I enjoying learning new things and taking on a challenge. I enjoying spending time with my family and friends and just chilling, relaxing, and playing board games all night long. I love to eat.....no really i love to eat. And if I could call it a hobby, i would. This year I am working and developing experience within the work force to save and prepare to leave on a mission. Soon after that, head to uni and begin to study. I still live with my mum and my older brother and will always take the chance to study scriptures and gospel principals at home. I enjoy watching cartoons on my spare time such as Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragonball Z and Avatar: The Last Air Bender. I also enjoy doing wood work projects and hoping to begin on a wooden man which is used in the art of Wing Chun.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was young, members of the Church introduced the teachings of the Book of Mormon to my Mum. Soon the Missionaries came over and started to give her the discussions and started to teach her more about the church...then she got baptized and joined the Church. At that time I was still very young and didn't know much about the Church for myself, but I listened to my Mum when it was time for Church. Later down the track I decided to go my own way, and hang out with some friends and soon got dragged in with the wrong crowd of people and did what I thought was best for me at the time. I got baptized at the age of eight, but didn't fully understand why i was doing it in the first place. As i got older, I started to dislike my parents, said things that I didn't mean and learned the hard way that what I was doing was wrong. Soon after that I had members my age and their leaders come to our house to try and get us involved with some of the activities in the Church. I participated once or twice with some of these activities, but didn't think anything of it. Sometimes they would make promises that they couldn't keep so I started to forget about them. Then one day, we had members for Christmas singing at our door step. Handing us treats so that we could fill the Spirit of Christmas. But it was only when I went to church and started to hear people go up onto a pulpit and share their testimonies and experiences with us of the Gospel, was I happy. Kids my age got interested in me, and what they had to say made me feel.....at home. I then began going to Church more than my Mum. I gained more callings and obtained a testimony for myself that the Book of Mormon which they preach from is true. As I started to listen more intently, and understanding what was being taught, I couldn't help but feel that the Spirit of God had touched my heart. At a young age people seem to question why I believe what I believe. I can only reply with a simple answer. I know that it's true.

How I live my faith

I am no longer at home as i have decided to become a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I live my faith by helping others recieve the restored gospel through Faith in Jesus Christ & His Atonement, Repentance, Baptism, Recieving the Gift of the Holy Ghost & Enduring to the End. As a Missionary I continue to live my faith by studying church doctrine such as The Bible & The Book of Mormon and constantly practicing them by teaching them to others and testifying of the truthfulness of this church with several missionaries just like me. I Continue to live my faith by giving service unto others and by taking time from my life to share this beautiful message of the Restoration of this Gospel but to also take some time to get to know people from different cultures and to listen, and to love them as i serve them and put my heart into what i do. There is no greater work than to love those who you teach for me. There is no other thing in the world that i would like to be doing than exercising my Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ by serving a 2 year mission for him.
