Hi I'm Margi

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was a student at Oregon State University. It was the best decision that I ever made. Since that time I have had a career as a teacher, managed a ballet studio, served in the community by volunteering in the schools, coaching Odyssey of the Mind and Destination Imagination, leading a blue bird troop, and on and on. Once the youngest of my five children went to school, I returned to my passion of riding horses. I compete in Dressage and love it. I now teach riding lessons to help cover the costs of maintaining three beautiful horses. I have also returned to my love of writing. I have writen two equestrian trail guide books titled: "Riding Colorado" and "Riding Colorado II." I have just recently published the first of a fantasy trilogy which combines my love of horses with my love of fantasy. It is titled: "Behind the Mist - Book One of the Mist Trilogy." In connection with "Behind the Mist," I write a weekly blog about Noble and Great horses: www.themisttrilogy.blogspot.com.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ and desire to become more like him. I believe that Christ organized his church when he was upon the earth and during the forty days before his assention. An examination of history tells me that that original church was lost through apostacy and needed to be restored. I have a firm testimony that the heavens have once again been opened and a prophet leads Christ's church on the earth once again. I also am grateful for the knowledge that, through the sacred ordinances in the temple, my husband and children and I are sealed for eternity. Families can be together forever. Being a Mormon brings joy to my life and helps me face life's challenges with hope and confidence.

How I live my faith

I have commited to the Lord to live the gospel every day. I do this with daily personal prayers bo increase in humily and gratitude and scripture study to strengthen my knowlege of the Plan of Salvation. I have served in the Church in many different callings from leadership positions to teaching positions. My favorite calling was the twelve years I served in Denver Area Public Affairs where my responsibilities included getting to know the various community agencies and matching up their needs with our large army of hard working volunteers. I strive to take upon me the name of Christ and be a light of the gospel to others. I want to add a little joy and light to their day whether stranger or friend. I look at everyone as a son or daughter of God.
