Hi I'm Garold

I grew up in the midwest. My wife and I joined the church in the Philippines while I was in the USAF. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father and husband and am now retired from a career in Information Technology. My favorite hobby is also what I work on part-time in a national chain Sporty Goods Store. I am the head of the golf department and continue to teach golf on a part-time basis. My wife and I have had many choice experiences with music in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I also play guitar, banjo and drums and love all types of music.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I was always interested in religion and had many questions about different aspects of the God head and my relationship to my Heavenly Father. I've come to understand that I am a son of my Heavenly Father and I came here from his presence. This life is a plan which was presented to us before we came to this earth and this earth life is to give us experiences that will test us to see if we will do all things our Heavenly Father asks us to do. I know by diligently keeping the commandments, and continuing in faith even unto the end of this earthly life and through the atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ, that we will be able to live once again with our Heavenly Father and receive the blessing of eternal life, which is the greatest blessing of all. I believe because of the atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ, I can be forgiven of my sins. I know these things are true because the Holy Ghost has borne witness of this fact to me. I know that only through Jesus Christ can a person be saved from sin and he is the only way back to our Heavenly Father. I also know that families can be forever and is central to Heavenly Father's plan. This brings great strength to me and encourages me to work diligently on my marriage.

How I live my faith

I have held several different positions in the church, mostly in administrative leadership positions. My wife and I serve at the present time in a leadership position of a Single Adult Congregation. This has brought us many wonderful experiences and gives us great hope for the coming generation. We also serve as home and visiting teachers, visiting members of our Branch on a weekly basis. This also brings us closer to the members.
