Hi I'm Don

I'm a Mormon. I have lived in Utah, Arizona, California, Missouri, Colorado and Ontario and Quebec and had almost as many careers

About Me

I have lived in a lot of places and done a lot of things. I was a Boy Scout Executive, Worked in the secuties and insurance industry, was the director of a local S.P.C.A., rancher, counselor at a youth facility, and taught adults to read and basic educaiton. I enjoy gardening, grandchildren, cattle, and talking to groups of people. I am a cancer survivor.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a small Mormon town where everyone was LDS, served a mission, went to BYU the whole Mormon experience. The real defining moment of my life came late when I was in the hospital in a great deal of pain after a cancer opperation. During that time I had a very spritual experience and learned of the personal nature of Christ's Atonement and really established a personal relationship with my Savior. During my life I have witnessed many things that people would probably clasify as miricles, but they all pale when compared to the miricle of the Atonment and the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

The Church provides many opportunities to serve. We have only been in Denver a short time. While in Missouri we had several opportunities to clean up and serve after tornados, both in 1993, and in 2011. The Church provides a framework for service. Christ said the first and great commandment is to love the Lord thy God and the second is like unto it, to love thy neighbor as thyself. The Mormon Church is not a kick back and let someone else do it type of organization, it is a serve others, love others and through that service worship God.
