Hi I'm Kayla

I grew up in the USA. I travel back and forth from USA to Honduras. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married to my wonderful husband since 2009 & we have a happy energetic four month old girl. I have to travel back & forth from USA & Honduras because my husband is in Honduras. I love spending time with my daughter & have recently learned how to sew. My husband & my daughter have made me feel so blessed as well as my husbands' family whom i get along better with then my own family. I didn't go to college because I did not graduate from high school.

Why I am a Mormon

Before I was a member & was still in high school I started hanging out with people who didn't make good decisions & I started doing what they were doing. Then one of my friends introduced me to a guy that was "Mormon" (he would later become my husband). At first I did not want to have anything to do with him for several reasons but then he started to grow on me he did not give up on trying to get me to be his girlfriend & then I gave in & we became a couple we were inseparable. Even though we weren't doing what was right he would still go to church almost every Sunday with the missionaries & he started talking to me about the church but i refused to listen or believe what he told me. Then he told me to pray to ask if the Church & the book of Mormon was true & if Joseph Smith was a true prophet. So I did but I wasn't really getting an answer i was looking for or i just wasn't listening. Looking back now I realize God had been talking to me the whole time, every time my husband & I was having trouble the missionaries would come without any knowledge at all the we would need them. After I had became a member we could not count the blessings that came our way there has been so any things that have shown us that this is the true church including our daughter. The doctors had told me that i would not be able to have kids which was discouraging since we wanted a family of our own, so we began to fast & pray as well as getting sealed in the temple. After that we found out that we were going to have a baby. So,becoming a member defiantly changed my life for the better & i am so glad that God sent me a "Mormon" husband or I might not of known all the blessing I could obtain.

How I live my faith

When I was in Honduras the last time i was a second counselor to the young women, which means I would assist in teaching the Sunday lessons to the young adults, and would help supervise youth activities and try to teach them useful skills. As for helping the community, because of there is so many mosquitoes which results from getting malaria, we would spray peoples yards with insecticide to help get rid of the mosquitoes.
