Hi I'm Alta

I'm a Mormon. I am an 88 year old mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I worked in business fields. A motion picture company, the medical field, and a personal venture. I never went to college, but gained my experience through actual on job positions.I was fortunate to get very good positions and had good employers who helped me progress. I enjoy painting in water color, acrylic, and oil. I love to read. I enjoy cooking and believe to be a reasonably good cook. I enjoy doing crafts and giving them away. I AM A MORMON. a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I started searching in other churchs than the one I was a member when I realized I had questions that my church doctrine did not answer. While searching and attending other churches, I was given information about the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. As I read and investigated I learned the answers I had been seeking, were being answered. I was learning My Father in Heaven knows me and loves me and I lived with him, and if I live and prove myself worthy on earth, keep his commandments and his covenants, I can return to his presence. I learned about my Savior, Jesus Christ, his sacrifice for me and all mankind. His atonement and what it means, the resurection and the plan of salvation. My Savior has shown me the way to follow Him and be with Him and my Father in Heaven through all eternity. Being baptized and accepting to follow Jesus Christ, I also received the Holy Ghost to guide and direct me as long as I keep the commandments. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet in this dispensation and that he restored the gospel and the true church. He translated the Book of Mormon, another testment of Jesus Christ. We are now again guided by living prophets as in the days of old. I never want to lose the joy and comfort I feel, and the knowledge I have about 'where I came from, why I am here and where I am going. The joy of going to the temple and doing my Father's work. These joys cannot be expressed in words.

How I live my faith

I go to church regularly and particpate in all activities. I attend the Temple as often as possiable. I have a calling as a branch missionary and enjoy meeting people and telling them the joy I have being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. The many blessings we receive from our Father in Heaven. I pray four times daily besides times inbetween when I want to talk with my Father in Heaven or thank Him for a happening that day, or a blessing. I get such a feeling of accomplishment when I serve my fellow man. As a visiting teacher helping families when necessary is a joyous feeling, and giving them a message of faith and inspiration also inspires me. Taking Sacament on Sunday remembering my covenants to our Savior. Being a good neighbor, remembering we are all God's children and treating all people with respect. Reading the scriptures daily. Listening and reading messages from our Prophet and Appostles and other leaders of the Church. I know these messages are from my Heavenly Father.
