Hi I'm Jordan Peterson

I love Volleyball! I love to play the Ukulele! I love to talk! And I am a Mormon!

About Me

I was born in West Valley City, Utah. I was raised into the LDS chruch. It has definitely been a blessing in my life, even though i did not recognize it for a long time. I went to church and the activities but i never really lived true to everything that was taught. I was baptized when I was eight years old, but I wasn't truely converted until I decided that I needed to go on a mission. The reason why this stengthened me is because it got me thinking about what is important in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of this church because I have studied the Scriptures and prayed to find out if the church is true! I have a firm testimony of prayer. I know that I can receive answers to all of my questions! For a while I was just feeding off the testimony of my parents and I didn’t have a solid one for my own. It was not until i decided to find out on my own to know if the church was true. i had been taught all my life that we can receive answers to prayers. So one night before i went to bed i decided to ask my Father in heaven two simple questions: If the Book of Mormon was true and if Joseph Smith true is a prophet of God. My answer did not come instantly. it came after I pondered the questions in my heart. when I received my answer it was not a voice speaking to me, the earth did not shake, but i had the feeling that i knew it was true! And I knew from reading Galatians 5: 22-23 in the Bible that the fruits of the spirit (or the things that come from the Spirit) are feelings like: Love, Peace, Joy, Happiness, Temperance, etc.. So through my own personal revelation I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lords Kingdom on the earth once more.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is by reading my scriptures and following the teaching of the Savior. He taught us to love our neighbors as our self. So I try to live my life right so i can be an example to anyone that comes in my path.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Jordan Peterson
The Law of Chastity is to refrain from sexual relations before marriage. The Law of Chastity is a sacred privlege that God has given us. He wants us to live by it. By waiting until you are married to be intimate will help you have a deeper and greater love for your spouse. The Law of Chastity also means that, when we are married, we should stay faithful to our spouse and to no one else. God gave us this power so we can help bring His children into the world. He wants every child to grow up in a family. So by protecting the sacred power of intimacy, until you are married, you can raise your children in a strong and healthy family unit. I know that as you live the Law of Chastity you will be able to claim so many blessings from God. Show more Show less

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Jordan Peterson
Tithing is an amazing thing! It is how God makes it so His church can reach through-out the earth. I know that tithing is important because it proves that God truly loves all of His children! He provides a way for everyone of them to worship Him! How The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints uses tithing is for a couple things! Whats cool about it is that no one in our church gets paid! nat a single soul! So you can know that your tithing is going to a good place! What our church uses tithing for is: Building Temples, Chapels, and other buildings; Provide operating funds for the church; helps with missionary work; Prepares materials that are used in church classes and organizations; Temple work, family history, and many other important church functions. I am glad to know that God truly does love us! He gives us everything. And all he asks for is ten percent back. thats like having ten apples(which God gave you) and giving God one! its not that bad is it? When the Lord reminded his people of this law through the prophet Malachi in the Old Testament, He promised to bless those who are willing to pay an honest tithe. (Malachi 3:10) God will bless you if you keep his commandments. He will provide a way. He promised the prophet Nephi in the Book of Mormon that He will provide a way for you to keep his commandments! So follow this and i promise that you will be blessed! Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Jordan Peterson
Okay so this is how I think of it: Remember in the Old Testament when Moses was building the portable temple? Well was all of the children of israel allowed in there? No they were not. Only the priests who were called to do so. Also remember Solomons temple? Well the same story there. it is a holy place. We do not deny anyone to enter the temple. If there is someone (member or not) that wants to enter the temple, they first have to prepare themselves before they enter. Just like in the Old Testament we have to prepare ourselves both spiritually and physically before we enter. The temple is not secret, but Sacred. in the New Testament the Savior threw out the money changers from the temple. The Savior taught that the temple is sacred, holy, and His house. What we learn in the temple helps us to more fully prepare for the next life. We learn Eternal truths. We recieve ordinances, including those that bind husband and wife together for eternity, as well as join children to parents.(Matthew 16:19) Also in the temple the Lord has provided a way that the ordinances such as baptism for those who have died without the opportunity to recieve the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love going to the temple becuase I feel the Spirit of the Lord there. And I feel closer to my Savior. The temple truly shows that families are important and can be together forever. Also in the temple Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

Jordan Peterson
Simply put the priesthood is Gods permission or His authority. It is the same Authority that existed in the original church established by Jesus Christ, and now is held by worthy male members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The priesthood helps guide and direct the Lords Kingdom on earth. God expects those who hold this sacred priesthood authority to follow the example of Jesus Christ and serve with love, gentleness, and kindness. Show more Show less
