Hi I'm Devon

I am from Utah, I play violin, piano and 5 other instruments. I love school, music, learning, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First of all, I really love music. I always have since I started violin as a young child. My musical desire has adapted and greatly developed over the years to the point where I desire to teach music. I have done some university schooling in pursuit of my Music Education degree. I can play Violin, Piano, Organ, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, and I can sing low Bass. I enjoy associating with friends who are musical and also with those who can't carry a tune. Currently I have put my musical schooling on hold while I serve the Lord on a two year mission in sunny Jacksonville Florida! To maybe learn a bit more about me, you are welcome to watch me play piano on youtube. I have three videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aTyrCuEJSI

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I can feel God's love. I feel it when I read the scriptures, when I pray, when I listen to our living prophet and other leaders speak. The feelings one gets when they receive a confirmation of truth is undeniable. I don't look for truth or answers to come in big waves. I look for tiny answers that build on one another and give me comfort and lets me know that God really does care about everybody. It is very comforting and reassuring to know that everyone, including me, can find any answer to life in this Gospel. I love this Gospel because I know the happiness and peace that comes through living the Gospel.

How I live my faith

Although I am no where near perfect, I live the Gospel by loving to study the scriptures and any other church materials. I enjoy attending scripture study classes that further my knowledge of the scriptures. Before I left on my mission I taught a class of ten year old children. It was tough, but a great learning experience and was pretty fun for me. Also, I live my faith by contributing musically in any way I can, to help build the faith of those around me.
