Hi I'm Ilene

I'm a Mormon. I was born in Texas, raised in Missouri, but I've found heaven in Colorado.

About Me

I'm mother of two beautiful daughters and grandmother of six grandchildren. I love being with family and enjoying all the different activities we can do in Colorado. The time we spend together are priceless and I will treasure them forever, especially riding ATVs, or the marshmellow roasts at the cabin. Sometimes we'll take photo shoots together, of flowers, the golden aspen or sometime maybe an elk. It's fun to share my favorite hobbies of genealogy and photography with my grandkids. I know families are eternal and I'm a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

My Bishop once asked me, "What has been the most life changing experience in your life? What has changed you for the better? What has made you, who you are? I shared with him, that it was losing three of my family members to botulism when I was fourteen years old. It was life shattering to loose a father, a sister and and a grandfather, and all at the same time. One day there were here and the next they were gone. My mother and grandmother recovered, but spent many years doing so. At the funeral, Spencer W. Kimball told us, "that we could be together as a family again someday, but we must do all that we could to be "worthy." It has been my faith and knowledge that my religion has helped me through many difficult times in my life. The teachings of the gospel has given me hope that we can be together again and live as a forever family. The love I feel for my family and my Savior gives me comfort and peace. This is the why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith each day of my life as if the Savior were at my side. What would the Savior have me do today? How can I be an instrument in His hands. Who can I serve? What good can I do today? Sometimes I forget that my purpose in life to live worthy of His sacrafice for me.
