Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 4 young children. My husband and I met over 10 years ago, while both attending a meeting for young, single adults put on by our Church. We were introduced through friends, and within a week, were on our first date (as a group) at the movies. The rest is history! We fell in love, married a couple of years later and now have a beautiful family. Life is never perfect, but it's fun trying! I am so grateful for all that my Father in Heaven has provided me with, and I hope I can report to Him, one day, that I did my best.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, not only because my parents are, but because I chose to be. I was baptised when I was 8 years old, but have since had many experiences that have strengthened my faith. I know that Joseph Smith was shown a vision of Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ, then later, was revealed to be the first Prophet of this restored Gospel. I know that Jesus Christ died for us, so that we can repent of our sins and be worthy to be in His presence after we die. I know that I can be with my family forever, because I have participated in temple ordinances, making covenants with Him, and keep those covenants to the best of my abilities. Particularly after loosing my Dad to cancer in 2010, this is even more important now than ever. I know that the scriptures are true, including the Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ that accompanys the bible. I love the friends I have made after many years in the church, I have met so many wonderful people that have influenced me and taught me, helping me to become a better person.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday, unless ill, as I really miss the feeling it gives me to begin each week, if I don't go. When I attend Church, I feel of the Spirit of the Lord, I sing hymns to Him, I listen, learn and partake of the sacrament, renewing the promises I have made at Baptism. Our children sit with us, and later attend primary, where the learn the importance of what life is really about. They learn how to be good citizens, how to choose right from wrong, to be virtuous and how to use the example of those people who have recorded their stories in the scriptures - and apply it to their own lives. I love the knowledge and hope this Church bring to my life and pray that this can be accepted into many other peoples hearts and lives also. I love that no matter what paths life will take me on, wither the roads are bumpy or smooth, that I know that my Saviour has a bigger purpose for me, and there is no trial He will give me that I cannot overcome.
