Hi I'm Reuben Smiler

New Zealand is my Home. Sydney Australia is the Mission. Temple View is were i was raised. I love the lord my family and the world

About Me

Kiaora, Elder Smilers the name, Australia Sydney is the Mission. I come from the beautiful land of Aotearoa (New Zealand), born and raised in the church, right next to the Temple in the View. I was brought up in a Whare of 9 kids, in which i am the 3rd eldest. Both my father and my older brother served their missions. My brother in Fiji and my Dad in Sydney, cool aye. I am currently studying the gospel full time, and learning to become a better teacher. My purpose is to give other people a purpose, and to guide them on the right path to eternal happiness. I stand all amazed at 6 '2, weighing about between 50 and 100 kgs. I like to go for long walks down the street, knocking on doors and getting yelled at. There is no greater work on this earth than Missionary work, and every member is a missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

Being brought up in the gospel i have always lived off of the testimonies of my parents, and they have basically dragged me to church from a very young age. As i was preparing to serve a mission there was a series of events which led me to read the book of mormon from cover to cover, and take it to the lord for some answers. All i can say, well i can say is that the book of mormon is true. And since the book of mormon is true jesus christ lived, joseph smith was the prophet of the restoration, and the church that he restored is the same church established by Jesus over 2000 years ago. And since i know all of these things i know that heavenly father really does love us all and that everything he tells us to do is for our benefit, and if we just trust and have faith in him and his son, we will become more happy, we will progress, becoming better people and when we pass away from this life we shall gain eternal salvation with our Families, which is what i look foward to, being a family for all eternity in happiness.

How I live my faith

Well im a missionary, and i do missionary things, so i guess being a missionarry and going on a mission is kind of living my faith. As we become more familiar with Heavenly father and get to know him, we realize how much he actually does love us. And when we realize these things our love for him grows, and as our love for him grows our love for everyone else does also. So write now i am trying to understand and comprehend Love, and apply it to myself as a missionary. Because with out love, nothing works. Love for the people, love for yourself, love for the lord, love for the work and love for love. Love is just so cool and ultimate, so as i live Love i live my faith.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Reuben Smiler
Haha no way!! Although Joseph was a prophet we only worship our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Dont get me wrong, Joseph was a good man, he was a prophet called of god, and without him, the fullness of the gospel could not have been restored. That is why he is so important, because through him the gospel was restored, the book of mormon was translated, and the priesthood keys were again given to man, to use inorder to help people receive salvation. I know that Joseph smith was a prophet, and i am so thankfull to him, for doing what he did, by the power of god, in restoring the gospel, so that i can receive eternal happiness. The way i found out for myself if he was a prophet was that i read the book of mormon, pondered the message that it contains, and prayed to know if it were true. I received an answer, and now i know that Joseph smith was a prophet called of god, and that he translated the book of mormon. Show more Show less
