Hi I'm Cyndi

I'm a Mormon. I am married to my high school sweetheart, we have three grown children and love the Northwest.

About Me

My husband and I have been together since high school and love the Northwest with it's natural beauty and abundance of activities. With the last of our three children off to college I decided to finish my bachelor's degree and am slowly working to complete that goal. I took sign language in college for two years and have been able to use that knowledge at church to interpret services for deaf and hard-of-hearing members. I can tell when someone is touched by the message I am signing and experience a feeling of gratefulness that I can help facilitate the message. I love to read, exercise, work in my yard, bake and spend time with my family. Mostly, I love to learn and it doesn't have to be in a classroom setting, though I enjoy that very much. The gospel is layered and as I learn one thing I find there is always another layer to be peeled back and more discoveries to be made.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church but that doesn't make me a Mormon. There comes a time when everyone must find out for themselves that the church is true, that is a testimony. Everyone, whether a convert or born in the church gains a testimony the same way. You must have an open heart and be willing to study and pray in faith until the spirit whispers to you that these things are true. That spirit calms troubled hearts, aleves worries, brings hope for the future and opens possibilities in life.

How I live my faith

I try to follow the commandments and look outside myself daily to find and help someone who may need something. I have had several assignments at church and try to do those faithfully. I have taught the youth in the seminary program and currently teach Sunday School as well as interpret. Probably my favorite thing though is when we have an opportunity help someone, for that is what the gospel is about, helping each other.
