Hi I'm Vance

I was born and raised in Arizona, USA. My home town is St. Johns, Arizona, a small town in Northeastern Arizona. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a great wife and a father to 4 great children and a grandfather to 11 grandchildren. Professionally, I am a civil engineer dedicated to providing clean drinking water to consumers. Both my wife and I graduated from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. I love to do photography and I am working to develop my skills in the use of Photoshop. I am an avid reader of fiction. I get lost in the story and it helps to relax me. With my wife, we thoroughly enjoy getting together as a family and celebrate special events such as birthday's. Recently, our entire family spent 3 days in Greer, Arizona letting the grandchildren develop relationships with their cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandparents. Greer is in the White Mountains of Arizona and has an alpine setting. As I move towards retirement, I want to do some woodworking to help keep me active and productive. We have a large family, 8 siblings in my family and six siblings in my wife's family. We have relatives scattered all over. I am a fourth generation Arizonan and are very proud of my heritage.

Why I am a Mormon

I am blessed to have been born into a long term family of Mormons. My Great, Great Grandfathers on both my mothers and my fathers line were baptised into the LDS Church. Through the guidance of my dear mother and father, I was baptised when I was 8 years of age. I have continued in the LDS church from my youth through the current day. Although I have been a lifelong member of the LDS church, like all members, I have had to be converted and recieve a firm testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's church on the earth and embodies all of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have received multiple witness of the truthfulness of the LDS Church and the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and other scriptures. These witnesses come through the administration of the Holy Ghost. I have had witnesses that President and Prophet Thomas S. Monson is in fact Christ's Prophet for the World. I love the LDS Church and treasure my testimony. I am so grateful for my own family and their support of me as I serve within the Church. This has brought peace into my life. I am so grateful for the knowlege of the great Atonement of Jesus Christ that enables me to repent and wash away my errors and sins as I come unto Him and take upon myself his Name.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my daily life, striving to be honest in my dealings with my fellow men and being compassionate with others. I also live my faith through faithful attendance of my meetings on Sundays and at other time as I am asked. Obedience to the Word of God is an important part of my faith and how I live it. I strive to have personal prayers every day and to read the scriptures every day. This helps me to have the Spirit with me at all times, although I sometimes do things that does not invite the Spirit. I have been priviledged to bear the priesthood and I am currently a High Priest. I have served in many positions with the LDS Church throughout my life. I am currently serving as the High Priests Group Leader of our local congregation. In this service, I am responsible for the home teachers who tend to the flock of those individuals and families assigned to the High Priests Group. I am also responsible for Family History and Temple activities for all members of our congregation. Recently, my wife and I have been called to serve as Senior Missionaries in Salt Lake, Utah and we look forward to this service. All of this has helped me to stay close to God and Jesus Christ.
