Hi I'm Shad

I live in Kansas. I have a wife, a kid, and a kid on the way. I enjoy playing all sorts of games and frisbeegolf. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Food is one of the things I love most in life. For me bacon is one of the best tastes and smells a person can have in their home. I enjoy relaxing with my friends and family by playing all sorts of board and card games. Building and drawing things are two of my hobbies. My wife and kid are also my hobbies and I love spending time and taking walks with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a family of six kids as a Mormon. My parents taught me and my brothers and sisters all of the basics and fundamentals of being a Mormon. At some point everyone has to decide for themselves what path they want to fallow. Between my freshman and sophomore years in high school, I decided to read the Book of Mormon. I had never read the whole thing myself before and thought it would be a good goal. I never expected anything to happen, but something did. Over the past school year I had developed some bad habits, but as I read the Book of Mormon I found myself wanting to do those things less and less. Before I even finished reading the whole thing I had lost all desire to do those things anymore. I knew, as I know now, that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. With that knowledge came everything that goes with it, that Joseph Smith really did see our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and that the church I had been going to my whole life up to that point (fifteen years) was and is Christs church on earth today. More than anything, the inner peace and quietness that comes from knowing I have been and will be forgiven of my sins, and knowing that my savior and Heavenly Father love me unconditionally, and that they know me personally and that I can know them is what keeps me going with the Mormon faith.

How I live my faith

In my local ward, I teach the youth Sunday School class, which is fun and challenging for me. I also help out the Mormon missionaries as much as I can.
