Hi I'm Lance

I don't smoke, chew, or date girls that do. simply put I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love music. the instrument i learned to play is the drum set. i loved it so much i joined my high school's pep-band. Although i don't think i'll make a career out of it i do enjoy putting in my headphones and just jam away. i really enjoyed playing and listening to music and also discovering new genres of music. i really feel that music is a way to really connect with your soul to feel a new light in the world. I played football at defesnive end in high school. I was fortunate to get high honors/awards my senior year and i was great full for the friends i had that really became my brothers. Even though football wont get me far for collage or a career in life it taught me some principle that well forever change my life i'm grateful for the coaches and their time and effort to raise championship men. Just like everyone else i love my family and friends that I've acquired over the years. Being away from home has really put me into perspective of how much family is important and how much i love and care for them. if it weren't for them i wouldn't be me.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but it wasn't tell my teenage years that i started taking religion seriusly to find out if i really believed in the LDS church. After alot of experience with decisions and choices i have found that this is the true and living church. This is my personal reason of why. my favorite scriptue is alma chapter 42 last verse. its not that i love the story of Corianton but that its one i can relate to. we all struggle with life and don't make the best desicions and can spiritually fall away but like corianton we have a father who loves us and wants to lift us up. We all have fathers here on earth but we also have a father of our spirits... he is our Heavenly father. After corianton is chastized for his wrong doings. i just imangine his father ,Alma, smiling and saying to Corianton. "And now, O my son, ye are called of God to preach the word unto this people. And now, my son, go thy way, declare the word with truth and soberness". and corianton gets up and does work. Our father in heaven is telling not just me but ALL of his childern because he loves us all and that we are called of him and we are to do his work which is to bring to pass immortallity and eternal life unto man. we are all here to help on another. This is hope that even though we make mistakes in life some small others bigger we can Repent and change for the better. because of Jesus Christ and his atonement we can get help, we can receive strength. This is my feeling of how the church is alive and continuing to serve others. this is why i chose to serve a mission to share this "good news" with everyone and this is why i'm a mormon.

How I live my faith

I'm grateful for my parents who taught me righteous principles. I really could feel i could trust them to raise and take care of me and like wise i feel that they could trust me. Although i was not perfect and some days i did not always do the right thing. I could always remember of what my parents had taught me. I should say its because of there influence in my life i know right from wrong. I know that my Father in Heaven loves me. I know that no matter what happens in my life i can count on my parents. They have taught me how to live my faith. They both have been excellent example of how to live my life, to raise a family, to getting the job done. because of the faith of my father, and the teachings from my mother, i experience joy in fulfilling my priesthood duties.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

for me a testimony is your witness of truth. when someone is selling a product they have testimonials from people who have tried the product and there opinion of that product. the same can be said about the testimonies that many mormons share. the basis of how a testimony is gained is basicly Faith - Act - blessings you have faith in a principle like knowing the book of Mormon is true you act by doing that principle like paying tithing or reading the Book of Mormon because of the promise that lord has given you will recieve blessings when reading the Book of Mormon then when you see the blessings you start over again until the equations changes to Knowing - Act - blessings and its this knowing part becomes the testimony, we know that it is true and that its good and thats why mormons share there testimony. Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

I know that the bible is a word of God, and so is the book of Mormon, both teach and testify of Jesus. One can't exsited without the other both go hand in hand. i love the bible and the things that i can take from it and apply to my life. in all honesty The LDS Church would never had started without the bible. Because Joseph Smith read pondered and prayed about scriptures from the bible he was given an awnser. and now we are so thankful to have both the bible and book of mormon which both are the word of god. How can I know Mormonism is true?

I like to think of it as boiling water. when you pray you have a water in a pot, and with the "real intent" that is the heat. with out the real intent the water isn't going to boil. so as you study and pray don't forget to PONDER and MEDITATE, this is so important and so many individuals forget the importance of this simple principle. so after you pray sit there and think about it, this is when the spirit well testify to you and speak to you through your heart and spirit.
