Hi I'm Grandon

I'm a college student who loves to be active, I love sports, I love the outdoors, and I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Brother, son, friend, missionary, uncle, are just a few of the words that I would use to describe me. I am a college student attending BYU-Idaho, pursuing a degree in construction management. The thing that I love most about my area of study is the opportunity I have to solve problems and to see great things be organized and built from smaller things in a collaborative effort of labor. I have just recently decided to put my education on hold for the next two years as I serve a mission in Tulsa Oklahoma. Of all the things that I will miss the most while I serve I believe that my family will be at the top of the list. I love my family, they are so awesome. I am a very people oriented person. I love to meet people, talk to them in small groups, and get to know people. When I was growing up my family moved around the US several times. I've lived in Ohio, Mississippi, Florida, Louisiana, Washington, Alaska, Idaho, and South Carolina. With all of that, I've dealt with a lot of "change" in my life. I have come to Love change. I really enjoy meeting new people, adjusting to a new location, experiencing life from a different perspective and just overall adjusting and getting a new start. I am a motorcycle enthusiast, and a sports lover.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to loving parents who are members of the Church, I was raised being a member of the Church. The relationship that I have with my Heavenly Father and His Son has always been a blessing in my life. However, at some point every logical self thinking person which has been in my situation has to stop and ask themselves "Do I believe because I believe, or do I believe simply because that what I've been raised to do?" I think this point came for me multiple times. I found myself on my knees praying to know for myself the truth. There have been so many times where I have had that reassurance of what I'm doing is right and that this is the true Church. I fully believe and have faith in this Church, in the Prophet Thomas S. Monson, in the leadership, and in Heavenly Father who ultimately leads this Church. As others, I'm not exempt from hardship or situations which test my belief and faith. However with each addition trial, hurdle, or hardship my faith grows stronger and more sure. I have felt the love of Heavenly Father, I have help the Holy Spirit testify and teach me, I have felt the warmth and serenity that comes with this gospel. I owe so much of who I am and what I stand for to my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I am a blessed individual, who is individually known by a loving Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

Everyone lives their faith differently. By no means am I perfect. I am very much human and I have many frailties. I live my faith because of these short comings. Some of the ways that I live my faith is by participating and serving in my local church ward. Another brother from my local church ward and I have the opportunity to visit a few families each month at their homes and share a spiritual message with them. This is a chance to build relationships and help to make sure the members needs are met. As home teachers it's always a learning experience to prepare a short lesson and to learn with the families. Another way I live my faith is by trying to reach out to other members and try to strengthen their faith. We are all brothers and sisters and we are in this together. I firmly believe that so much strength can be drawn and shared through personal relationships. Faith is like a candles flame, when you use your candle to light another you don't loose your flame, but the other candle gains it's own flame. I think it's the same way with testimony and faith. I'm someone who has made countless mistakes. This is why I need the lord in my life. The best thing I do to live my faith is to try to be the most Christ like person I can be and let my example and personality radiate and inspire other. I want to be the best Grandon I can be, as I strive to become more christ like, my faith is strengthened, I learn more, and become more capable to love and live as He did. This is how I live my faith
