Hi I'm Monica

I am a stay at home mom of 3 kids, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Arizona. My husband and I have been married for 10 years, and we have three beautiful children. I am a stay at home mom. I would describe my job as a mother as VERY HARD! With that said, I truly love it!!!! Right now my children are my life! I love to play and be with them whenever I can, and when I'm not I feel a little weird. Besides playing with my children, I love being with friends and family, eating (thats usually what we do together),listening to good music, dancing, reading a good book, and going on dates with my husband. I love to travel, and I love Hawaii. I took Hula lessons for three years, although I still consider myself a beginner. I love to dance for fun. Someday I hope to learn to play the ukele that sits in my closet. I would also love to travel to Italy where my ancestors are from. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in California where I learned to speak Spanish. I am not fluent by any means, but I am grateful to be able to speak two languages. Our family enjoys going to the beach in Mexico and I love to practice my Spanish. One of my biggest trials is that I am a perfectionist, although I'm anything but perfect. I am trying to love myself despite my shortcomings. I have decided that I would rather spend time with my kids than having my house perfectly perfect. I rely daily on my knowledge that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me even though i make mistakes.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon, but I continue to be a Mormon because of the peace and happiness I feel when I follow Jesus Christ and His teachings. I know that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us individually and is aware of our needs. I feel very blessed that we can pray to Him and feel Him near us. I am grateful that he loves us equally and has called a prophet in our day and time just as he did anciently to teach us and guide us. The church, its teachings, and its members help strengthen my faith and help me to continue to follow the Lord and teach my children despite living in a world with so much moral decay.

How I live my faith

I enjoy attending Sunday meetings regularly with my family. I love working with the young children and have taught different ages from 18 months to 10 years old. I feel it is so important that we teach our kids that they are Children of God and He loves them. I also participate as a visiting teacher, which allows me to visit on a monthly basis with other women nearby. This has been extremely helpful in making new friends, each time I have moved. It is always nice to have other women to visit with, discuss problems, seek advice and just be friends.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Monica
Thomas S. Monson is our living prophet today. Just as the prophets of old, he holds the Priesthood keys that allow him to receive revelation from God. If we follow his counsel we will blessed and grow closer to our Heavenly Father. Serving others, and remembering to have gratitude for one's blessings, are two important things that President Monson has taught. Show more Show less
