Hi I'm Karen

I grew up in Perth, Australia. I'm a contented wife, adoring mother & stressed uni student. I'm a happy Mormon.

About Me

I'm married to the love of my life and have 6 beautiful children who I adore! I've been a Nurse and I'm currently studying to become a Social Worker. I love crosstitch, longstitch, sudoku, puzzles and 'chick flicks'. Going to the movies or walking along the beach with my husband are favourite passtimes along with travel! I've lived in New Zealand and been to many other countries and around Australia with my family. I love chocolate!

Why I am a Mormon

Over 22 years ago I found myself wondering what life is about and where I was going in the future, I felt unsure and a little scared of what lay ahead. When I met my husband, he 'stood out' to me because of his values and energy. He was the first Mormon I had ever met and I was drawn to him. As I met more members of the church I was astounded at how friendly, outgoing, talented and confident everyone was. They seemed to enjoy life and have fun. I had a lot of questions and was led to the missionaries. I knew that everything they said was the truth by the feelings I had. I love my church and I couldn't be happier that I've joined as my life has been enriched 100 fold. I know God lives and that he loves us and I know that happiness can be found through living the principles of the gospel. I no longer feel afraid when I think about the future, I'm confident that I'm in Gods hands.

How I live my faith

I strive to teach my children the principles that will help them to be successful and happy and live abundant lives and to help each other and those around them. They are actively involved in the youth and young adult programs of the church and receive diverse experiences and are encouraged to respect others and learn life skills. I am President of the women's organisation for the church in my area and I love being involved with these beautiful women and seeing them help and lift one another. I enjoy the activities and programs that are run to strengthen women. I love that women are valued in my church.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Karen
We don't worship Joseph Smith, we revere him as a man who sacrificed everything to restore the gospel in the same pattern that Jesus set it up when he walked on the earth. We worship God and love him with all our might mind and strength. We recognise the great contribution Joseph Smith has made by bringing back lost truths. Show more Show less
