Hi I'm Janet

I am a senior citizen, life long southerner, parent of 5 children and 20 grands who is active in the community and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an avid traveler who has visited all 50 states and six continents consisting of over 40 countries. I love being active with white water rafting, hot air ballooning, para-sailing, hang gliding, horseback riding, etc. My family is the most important part of my life and I love being with my five children and 20 grandchildren. I am a community activist and have served on the executive boards of the Gwinnett County Republican Party, Conservative Republican Women, The Snellville Historical Society, The Pro-Mozart Society of Atlanta, and The United Ebony Society of Gwinnett County. I attended Brigham Young University and obtained a executive management degree from Simmons College in Boston MA. I enjoyed a year of living in New York City while working for Avon Products, Inc. as the National Incentive Manager. My other passions are the theatre and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a 4th generation Southern Mormon and the teachings and traditions of my faith have greatly enhanced my life. I find comfort in the answers the Gospel of Jesus Christ gives for lifes purpose and the positive messages in the scriptures as presented by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I find the truth that Families can be Forever as taught in Mormon doctrine to be a guiding beacon in my life.

How I live my faith

I try to maintain a daily relationship with God the Father and strive to become the person he created me to be. I don't try to change myself only to become more my authentic self. I find great happiness in doing for others and try each day to do an act of kindness. I was given my first teaching assignment in the church organization when I was 12 years old and over the years have had many opportunities to serve others in the children's and women's groups.
