Hi I'm Martha

I'm a mom of seven children. I love life, family, triathlons, and string music, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life! I am a mom to seven busy children who keep me out of trouble and on my toes. I grew up in a loving family with parents who were the "pivotal generation". I am grateful that my parents both were baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; then they embraced the gospel and the teachings of Jesus Christ. I love to spend time with my family. I love being outside and riding my bike where I can feel the wind blow through my hair. I have a special place in my heart for good music. I studied violin and viola performance at the University level and have a performance/pedagogy degree. I love music that brings a spirit of peace to my soul on a dark day.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe the teachings of Christ. I know that Joseph Smith restored Christ's church to this latter day. I know that the Book of Mormon is a second testament of Jesus Christ. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father has put in place a prophet on the earth today that can receive direct revelation from Him. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is a prophet called by God to help direct my life. The organization of the Mormon Church is amazing. I am able to participate in teaching the gospel to others in my congregation. When I study and prepare a lesson to teach, my own belief in what I'm preparing increases. I love teaching the youth, because I have seven of them in my home, I believe that the teachings of the Mormon Church help the youth and my children develop strong values. The Mormon Church gives me courage to make good choices. I'm a Mormon because I love Heavely Father and Jesus Christ and someday I want to live with them again with my family right next to me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. I believe that we are all an instrument to God in some way. Since Jesus cannot be here and prepare a dinner for a family who has lost a loved one, I know that I can do this simple deed and help my Savior. I love to teach the youth especially the young girls ages 12-18. I know that the girls of our generation have many challenges in their lives. The teachings of Jesus can help them to have courage, develop strong values, have a strong personal identity, and also prepare them to be mothers and strong women one day. I live my faith by being involved with the community and my children's school. I love to share my talents and my love of music with others. Recently I was able to go to my daughters class at school and explain to her classmates all about the violin and how it worked. I was able to play Christmas carols for her class and they all sang along. This brings me joy. I love seeing others happy and if I can bring any amount of joy to others then I am living my faith.
