Hi I'm Emily

I love my family! I love learning. I am a missionary in Texas! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I am Emily. I want to change the world...I'm still working on the details. I was born on Friday the 13th and I am the middle of seven children (but believe it or not, I am the most normal of all of my siblings)! My siblings and I are blessed to have two of the kindest people on the planet as our parent. I am crazy about my family and I love them with all of my heart! I've worked with children without parents in Ecuador and hope to continue my involvement there in the future. A little closer to home, I am studying Elementary Education. I love learning and feel that my love of knowledge can be put to good use by teaching children. I love the outdoors, especially the mountains! When I am in nature I feel closer to God. But, I have put those parts of my life on hold for a while to serve a fulltime mission for the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Texas! I love Texas and I love being a full-time missionary!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church...so that is why I started out Mormon. But why I am still Mormon?: I have learned that it is true through expereinces I have had reading the scriptures, praying, and doing my best to live the commandments of God. I love that in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint/The Mormon church we are taught that God still really does expect us to know, understand, and live His commandments. As the scriptures say, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I believe that. I know that God loves and cares about us just as he loved the people alive during Bible times. He is still speaking to us through the scriptures, the Holy Spirit, and a living prophet. I have taken the time to read, ponder, and pray about the Book of Mormon. It goes hand in hand with the Bible! I know that they both contain the word of God. I know this through the Holy Spirit, that is the only way that we can know spiritual truth. I love having another testament of my Savior Jesus Christ! I know that the true church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth! It is so exciting! Anyone who will take the time to read the Book of Mormon, ponder, and pray to God to know if these things are true will get an answer that they are if they have true faith in God and a thirst to know what His truth is!

How I live my faith

My faith is who I am. I live it by doing the best that I can to live God's commandments and repent when I fall short. Right now I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints/The Mormon Church...and I LOVE it! I meet a lot of wonderful people everyday and am able to talk to them about their faith. Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and seeing peoples' lives and hearts change for the better is the most rewarding thing I have ever done!

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Emily
The missionaries will talk about the gospel of Jesus Christ (His teachings). There are parts of the gospel that were lost or changed after the life of Christ and his chosen apostles; they will talk with you about how these truths have been restored. Prayer and the Holy Ghost are important for each person to know the truth so they will talk to you about those things also. They are pretty nice and will want to answer any questions that you have.
