Hi I'm Gary

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am Gary. I was raised in eastern Pennsylvania amongst the Pennsylvania Germans. College degrees include a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering, an MBA ( man power management ) and a PhD in Adult Education. Over the years I worked in the US Army as a helicopter and fixed wing pilot, in civilian life as a structural Engineer, as a project manager of construction and as a professor of Construction Management. Today I am retired as an Army Lieutenant Colonel and Emeritus Professor . My wife and I have been married for 55 years, have 5 children, 18 grand children ( 6 married ) and 8 great grand children. I love crafting things in my wood working studio and traveling. We enjoy the beautiful world that our Heavenly Father created for us.

Why I am a Mormon

My wife and I were 28 years old with three small children when we were introduced to the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by two Sister Missionaries. I had always believed what the Sisters taught us even though we were not taught this doctrine in our former church. We have remained strong in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because the family is the basic unit of the church. We are all spiritual children of our Heavenly Father. We can live together not only in this life but also throughout eternity. We also have the opportunity to serve Heavenly Father's children any where around the world. I know that God lives, that Jesus Christ lives and is our Savior and Redeemer, and that the Holy Spirit is real.

How I live my faith

Jesus Christ taught us to love one another and He showed us by example how to serve others. Over the years in the church I have had the opportunity to serve in the boy scouts as Scout Master, in other youth programs, in adult groups and in many administration positions. Since our retirement, my wife and I have served full time missions in Barbados, West Indies; Albania; the north country of New York State and locally at home.
