Hi I'm Carter Allen

I love working on cars and using my hands, I love being outdoors and having fun, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a two year mission for my Lord. I love it! I am dedicating these two years of my life to help others receive the countless blessings that I have received by being a member of His church. I plan on going to school when these two years are up to become a Collision Repair Technician. I love playing with cars and working with my hands. I am the oldest of 3 boys. I like spending time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book of scripture given to us through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that this is the True Church of Jesus Christ in these latter days. I know this because I have sincerely read the Book of Mormon and taken upon myself the challenge given in it: "We invite all men everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, to ponder in their hearts the message it contains, and then to ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if the book is true." I have received my answer from Heavenly Father just as the promise is given: "Those who pursue this course and ask in faith will gain a testimony of its truth and divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost." I know the Book of Mormon is true because of the power of the Holy Ghost, and I know that anyone who sincerely desires that same knowledge can receive it by that same power. Being a member of His true church has blessed my life and my family greatly.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by dedicating these two years of my life for him. I am a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I teach people about his doctrine and his church here on the earth in these times. When my two years are up, I will continue to live my faith by keeping my promises I've made with my Heavenly Father, which include serving all those around me and being the best person I can be.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Carter Allen
Mormons help everybody, regardless of their beliefs or anything else. We are simply disciples of Jesus Christ. As followers of Jesus Christ, one way we serve Him is by serving our fellow men. As a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I strive to serve everyone I talk to by teaching them about the Church and the restored Gospel. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Carter Allen
The Holy Ghost is a member of the Godhead. There are three members of the Godhead, Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. All three members of the Godhead are united in one purpose, but each are individuals. Because of revelation to Joseph Smith we know that the Holy Ghost is a spiritual being. The Holy Ghost's purpose is to testify of truth, comfort and sanctify. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Carter Allen
Of Course! This is why The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is so unique. Because it is the True church of Jesus Christ. God has always called prophets to lead and guide his people in his church. Thomas S. Monson is the current successor to the prophet Joseph Smith whom the lord used to restore the church in the early 1800's. We as church members sustain or support Thomas S. Monson as the Lords prophet here on earth. The Holy Ghost will testify to any person who sincerely asks, that Thomas S. Monson is called of God to lead His Church. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Carter Allen
A Testimony is simply a witness given to someone, by the Holy Ghost. When we share our testimony, or our witness, we share what we know to be true. We know it is true because it was given to us by god through the Holy Ghost. Any person can gain a Testimony of their own if they sincerely desire one. It will come through earnest study and sincere prayer to Heavenly Father. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Carter Allen
Joseph Smith was the Prophet of the Restoration; or on other words, He was the man chosen by God to Restore his church. God has always call prophets and he always will. After centuries of being lost, out of love, God restored the full gospel or teachings of Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was the first prophet called of God in these latter days. Show more Show less
