Hi I'm Lizzie Marie

I love to travel, learn, run, and serve. I am an aspiring social entrepreneur to empower women worldwide. and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to learn. I am a student of life. I recently finished my bachelors degrees in International Studies and Political Science, with a French minor. I love to serve! I am passionate about empowering others, particularly women, through education, microfinance, and other initiatives. I love the nonprofit and public sector. I have been very involved with nonprofit organizations around Salt Lake City, like Catholic Community Services and the Boys and Girls Club. I LOVE TO TRAVEL. I love culture and diversity! I lived in New Delhi, India for 5 months and Bamako, Mali, West Africa for 3 months. I enjoy politics. I love to sing and dance and perform. More than anything, I love to share the gospel! I am currently writing a missionary. I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Lord. I was raised as a member of His church, baptized when I was 8 years old, but I wasn't truly converted until I was 12 in the young woman's program. My family was going through a rough time - my parents were separated and then later divorced. My father was very abusive for years and after their separation, I was severely depressed for months. Then one day, I picked up a copy of my Book of Mormon and started to read...I was filled with a love and a light that consumed me. I couldn't stop reading for days. I began to actively attend church and church activities. It was then that I knew I am a daughter of God and the Lord loves me unconditionally. His atonement has healed me. I am perfectly imperfect and that is okay. I know my Savior lives and not only loves me, He KNOWS me. I know that Joseph Smith was the key in restoring the gospel in these latter days and he is a prophet of God. I know that Thomas S. Monson, as well as the other apostles, are a modern-day prophets, seers, and revelators. Through the ordinances and covenants received in the temple, families can be together forever. God is perfect and everything is as it should be. He has a plan in everything. Jesus is the Christ, the son of God. We are all children of God. The Holy Spirit was sent to comfort and guide us in these latter-days and he will help us to stay close to our Father in Heaven. I know that I can be perfected through Christ. God lives. He is risen!

How I live my faith

I try to serve others as Christ spent his entire life serving us. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the best way I can live the gospel is by EXAMPLE. I try to be my best self and stand as a witness of God at all times, in all things, in all places. I want to be an example of the believers. In my community, I serve others through local organizations and one-on-one with friends and family. I try to help everyone recognize their ultimate worth and potential. In my ward, I have served many callings as a lesson instructor, ward missionary, president of every age group in the young woman's program, etc. I do my best to do my visiting teaching each month. I'm trying to be like Jesus. I'm not perfect, but I like say that I'm "perfectly imperfect." The Lord loves me as I am and He is standing side-by-side, cheering me on through mortality! I love the challenge of life.

What is faith?

Lizzie Marie
Faith is knowledge that comes as you act on a belief. It is a desire to know for yourself. Faith grows as it is nourished. Show more Show less
